Hey all, I am looking for recommendations for seat covers for the rear seats of my 2020 Prime. I've seen postings about the 2+2 but nothing for the bench style seats in the back. I have kids and need to get these sooner than later, as I fear for my seats with them and their carseats in particular. Many thanks!
If you can't find any company that makes custom fit covers for the backseat, I say go see your local upholstery shops. I bought a pair of generic fit sheepskin covers for my front seats and love them.
Apparently the Clazzio covers for the 2020 Prius are identical to the 2020 Prius Prime, now that there are 5 seats in the back. I emailed their customer service, and they contacted their manufacturer and said that they had installed them on a 2020 Prime with no complaints regarding fit. I ordered a set for 2020 Prime LE, should be here in a couple of weeks. I'll report back with pics and any comments regarding installation/fitment
I installed a set of Clazzio leather seat covers on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma, and here is my experience: Goods > Fitment - Amazing. Even dealers couldn't tell it was an aftermarket seat covers. > High quality workmanship - cut, stitching, tailoring, etc. is beyond excellent. > Durability - It still looked almost brand new when I traded in for my 2020 Prime in Dec. 2019. Bads > Texture of leather wasn't as soft as I expected or compared to other factory leather seats like on MB, Cadillac, etc. > Long wait - It took about 2.5 - 3 months to arrive from the date I ordered. > Made in ? - Back then their website says the covers were made/shipped from Japan. When I received the box, it says Made in China...
My Clazzio covers came in a few days ago - was finally able to install them and happy to report, the 2020 Prius covers fit the 2020 Prime Prime perfectly. I did have a few snafus - one of the straps on the underside of the driver seat bottom came off. Contacted clazzio and they offered to pay return shipping and sew it back on. (I opted to just sew it back myself, the part of the seat it sews into is not visible anyway, so not a big deal) Also had a stitch in the rear bench bottom that cut through the vinyl. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but I did contrasting white stitching on black leather, so the skipped/torn stitch was extremely noticeable. Contacted them with pics, and they're sending a replacement for that specific part. All in all, very satisfied. The fit is amazing, and I think I'll really appreciate having lighter color inserts when it starts getting warmer in the spring/summer! I'll post some pics when I get a spare moment.
They say the outer part is Pleather but the perforated interior is real leather - I don't spend too much time in luxury cars so I can't be the judge. Personally, I think the material feels better than SofTex (has more grain to it, feels less artifically smooth) but probably not as nice as real leather like in a higher end Audi, Benz, etc... Pics attached for your reference! (They could probably be installed slightly tighter with a 2 person install, but I did this on my own and was satisfied with the results)
Tough to say - I broke the install over 2 days, one for front and one for back. Probably 3.5-4.5 hours all told. I'm not sure that a second person would make the install go that much faster so much as it would make getting a tighter fit easier. I did remove the rear seatbacks during the install as well, which wasn't required by the instructions and might have added a bit of time, but wasn't difficult and I think resulted in a much easier install. The armrest is also extremely difficult, I still haven't been able to install it correctly per the instructions, the crack they tell you to stuff the material into is just too tight, so it's currently just draped over the armrest.
those look amazing! I sent my wife the link to Clazzio on rakuten, while she was in JP...but said it was too much $$ I was trying to find just the rears only to make the price cheaper, but no luck. oof.... Currently i have some generic car seat pads from amazon doing a decent job, but the middle seat is exposed, and that scares me with my kids. So far, no food in the car. lol
Costco's CoverKing link seems broken currently (you enter all your info and it's supposed to return you to the Costco website for the order, but it generates an error page instead). ShearComfort does claim full 2020 Prime compatibility with heated seats and airbags, at a significant price, but has a current discount of 10-25% depending on fabric. The cordura in blue come to $538.50 for a full front and rear set after the 25% discount. Still too much for us!
