latest # of HOV stickers issued?

Bought new Prius August 3. New plates arrived Aug 12th. August 16 I drove over to fast pass office in SF and applied for fast pass in person to avoid the 3 weeks to get fast pass by mail. August 18 mailed application to DMV for HOV stickers. HOV stickers arrived 9/11/06 for both my wifes 05 and my 06 Prius. # 74,3XX and 74,3ZZ. I'm a happy guy!
The plates came direct from my dealer not the DMV. It seems they pay cash at DMV for plates every week and then the dealer overnighted them to me. Deal and Davie in Susanville. Great place. Under MSRP and 15 minutes to do the paperwork. I talked with 7 dealers in the Bay Area and they all said that I would wait 3-6 months, I needed to give them a 500 deposit, and I needed to be flexable with option package and color. Not ME!!! If I'm waiting 3-6 months I want what I want and thats all I want. I got it in 3 weeks not 3-6 months and I did it over the phone and for under MSRP. Call them if you need a Prius and you are getting the typical high volume, no service, Bay Area run around.

No offense however if you have waited for a YEAR then I doubt you really need the stickers. If you had a commute you would have followed up ages ago. I would recommend letting someone else who needs them have them. Just my two cents.

 

Oh happy day! My stickers arrived in today's mail. I was starting to get nervous.
They are numbered 747XX.

Woot! Mail signed for on the 16th. What is the typical wait for the stickers once it's been sent in?

Ah... I'm glad to see that they're still issuing the X's. Would be great to see the real numbers - at this point those last two digits are going to be relevant. Really we won't go through the trouble of stalking you through your HOV stickers! We can get more goods on you through your internet persona than going through the trouble of hacking the HOV system!

Friends of mine up here in the Bay Area received 76,6xx in the mail yesterday (sorry, darelldd, I know don't what their last 2 digits were). Their purchase date was around the first week of August but I don't know when they mailed the application.

 

Sent my app in on August 30th and still no stickers. I keep trying to call in to check on the status, but the number is just busy, busy, busy.

 

FYI- I sent mine in on 8/29 and I received stickers on Monday 9/18 (whew!), the number is 75,014.

I got my stickers in the mail just now. I live in Los Angeles, so they will help with the traffic here. They are numbered 76,300. YEAH! I thought I was going to miss the cut off of 75,000 (which I did), but fortunately the DMV is still issuing the stickers. I mailed my application in on 8/31/2006. One by express mail and one by regular mail and both checks were cashed on 9/14/2006. I doubt I'll get two sets of stickers though. Refund??? GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WAITING...

 

Sent my app on 9/1 and received stickers no. 7546X today. They seem to drop them in the mail the same day they cash your check. So if the check clears, I think you're golden.

We're definitely going to have to have the rear bumper of our Prius replaced, which means that we'll have to get new stickers. Has anybody done this? I see that there's a spot on the application for replacement sticker requests. My question is: Do we have to go back to the Fastrak office for another receipt? Common sense tells me that we shouldn't since they confirmed that we have Fastrak when they issued our stickers 7 weeks ago. But, we're dealing with a government agency here and common sense doesn't always come into play. Any suggestions from someone who has already requested and received replacements would be sooo appreciated.

 

Sorry to hear about your husband's accident MysteryMe. Glad he's okay too! I wouldn't think it would be as much of an ordeal to get replacement stickers as the original ones.

I recieved my stickers yesterday in the mail! Whooo hoooo!!!! They're definitely numbering over 75,000. Mine are close to the 75,400's. My hour and a half commute (or more) just got shortened to an hour!

 

My HOV stickers arrived yesterday: # 7641X. ??? Maybe they started at some number higher than 00001.

I put my name on the waiting list for a Prius in mid-August. I gave the salesperson a list of acceptable colors (I don't really like any of the colors available, so it was a matter of excluding the colors I dislike the most), and requested option package 7 or 8. The car (2006, Driftwood, Option Package #7) arrived at the dealer on 30AUG06. The salesperson went to DMV and obtained actual license plates for the car -- apparently car dealers can do this -- so by late in the day on 30AUG06 I had both the vehicle ID and the license number (and the license plates actually on the car). Since I do not live in one of the SF Bay Area counties attached to a bridge, no fast pass was required.

I mailed my HOV sticker application on 31AUG06. The check I wrote for the application fee cleared the bank on 19SEP06. The stickers arrived 21SEP06.

VERY NICE DEALER. Mine took its sweet time in getting my license plate. I bought on 7/15/2006 and didn't get the license plate number until 8/31/2006, the physical plates came a week later.

I just moved to California and bought a Prius; do I need a California Driver's License to apply for these stickers?
