I unfortunately spent more than I can afford on my Tesla Model X. I need to downsize. I had a 2012 PIP back in 2012 and I am thinking of going back to one to save some money. If you have a PIP advanced for sale let me know. I figure its a long shot but if you are interested in upgrading to a Model X I am selling mine for $85k. Its only 5 months old and has 10,000 miles. I can give you more info if you were serious.
Trade in on, or sell and buy a model3? Although that's still 3-4 times what you'd pay for a used PiP. The secondary market doesn't seem to care if they are Advanced or Base, though. You'd find both for the same price pretty much. iPhone ?
I’m done with Tesla. I was a huge fanboy but their service is horrendous here in NY. I could tell you some stories that would make you want to rip your eyes out. I like the features on the advanced. Good to hear that price is the same as a regular one.
I understand. Yes I was looking on cars.com and was finding (at the time) 11-14k for the plugin and base/advanced were just mixed in. iPhone ?
Sorry to hear that Tesla's service is dreadful. Btw, I've noticed that many of those listed as "Advanced" on cars.com are actually "Base."
You’re right. I do see an advanced on there now for $13,995 with only 41k miles. That might be a winner. Now I just need to sell the X
I always check the pics for the headlight washers and fog lights to determine if it is an Advanced. Shouldn't the other one then be called Based.
Going from a Model X to a first generation plug in is like going back to the dark ages. Why not settle on a new 2020 Prime? I don't understand the $100k purchase on the model X luxury car and then go back to an 7 year old economy car for $15000. The depreciation on the X for 1 year is the price of the first generation plug in. Are you shorting TSLA? The new generation Prime will allow you to get a longer range and will have a warranty (service) that won't leave you stranded like a first generation plug in with a possible head gasket failure or battery failure in it's near future.
And let's not forget the 2019 and 2020 Subaru Crosstrek PHV, which licenses the hybrid technology from Toyota. You also get Subaru AWD. I believe it starts at 34k. iPhone ?
Lol am I shorting Tesla. No I’m not shorting Tesla. I’m too poor to play in the stock market. The X was a huge splurge for me. I made it work but Tesla service is horrendous. I am furious with them. I will make an appointment and then they would either cancel, or reschedule, or not show up. You can’t call anybody and the only way to talk to somebody as if you make a service appointment in the app, and then wait two weeks for somebody to call you. It’s absolutely appalling. they had my car for a month and I couldn’t work and I could barely leave the house. It was a minor computer code that I needed to clear but unfortunately their tow company damaged my rack and pinion steering while towing it in. Both Tesla and the tow company refused to pay it so I had to pay $4000 out of my own pocket just to get my car back. I don’t have that money so it’s going on a credit card. So yes I need to sell the car because Tesla service sucks and I can’t afford to keep it. I hate the Prius prime. I think it’s the ugliest car ever made. I’ll never drive one of those. The Prius plug-in is fine. I’ll save some money for a better car
First thing I thought was similar to @JC91006 on the Prime instead of the PiP. Having gone from a PiP to a Prime, the difference is amazing. If you can swing it, the Prime should make you a lot happier for a lot longer.
A cross track is too new and expensive for me right now. I need to be cheap. Tesla has buried me with this $4000 bill. And because I wasn’t able to work for a month I am even more broke. It was just for a simple computer code that needed to be cleared. My lawyer said he had a car accident and Tesla had his car for three months. I can’t afford that shit
At Subaru, we give brand new vehicles as loaners for as many weeks as is necessary. And Subaru has, on occasion, decided to pay for things that were not covered by warranty, simply because the customer asked them to. I don't know how Tesla service is set up, but there should be another Tesla facility you can go to for service instead of the one you went to before. If not, then that's something they're doing wrong. iPhone ?
Agreed, sorry Jimbo. Some persons have gotten very good results after contacting Musk directly with complaints, but I don't know how they did that, maybe tweeting. Any chance I have your original PIP? I got a killer of a deal on one out of NY three years ago. Still working perfectly.
