How long did it take you to get your CAV decals? CA owners.

My check cashed today. It took 2 months.

 

My check was cashed on the 8th as well. So I assume we're all going to get the new tags in a few weeks.

 

My check got cashed the other day and these showed up today! I kinda wanted the purple ones as they were going to look good on blizzard white but I got orange. Check was sent 11-24-19, cashed 1-08-20 and stickers showed up 1-13-20

 

Thats a good idea. I hate the thought of sticking a sticker on my cars paint! lol I have cleaned, clay barred and use a very high quality wax and the paint looks absolutely amazing. I am going to get a laser leveler to put the stickers on as I think it looks annoying when I see a car drive by with crooked stickers on it like they were in a rush to go have a baby and needed to use the carpool lane! lol

 

I thought about using a magnet, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea as it may come off. Also the bumper is plastic...ugh.

 

Wow. Does it mean those who sent the application first thing Jan 2020 will get theirs in March? doh.

 

LOL no. I think we'll get it in a few weeks. DMV was holding on to the end-of-year filers so that they didn't get last year's sticker.

 

I guess one advantage of the orange sticker is that no one will rear-end us.

 

Is there a thread about the placement of the stickers

11/16 - purchased from dealer
12/13 - received plates
1/18 - received orange hov decals

 

Got mine as well. Registered last year. Put them on using vinyl wrap under to prevent them from being hard to remove in a few years.

 

Sent my app in on Jan 2, received decals today, Jan 21.

 

Has anyone tried applying on the rear bumper sticker with the clear bra on the black plastic? I just taped mine on the other day as I don't like thinking about sticking the stickers permanently on the paint, especially since I might use a car pool lane once every two - 3 months.

 

yea thats exactly what i did. I used this. *6"x12" Genuine 3M Scotchgard Clear Paint Protection Bra Film Vinyl Wrap Decal | eBay was enough for all 4.

 

So I applied for my CAV decal in November 2019 and have yet to receive it.

After taking a closer look on the CA DMV CAV Decal website (Clean Air Vehicle Decals - High Occupancy Vehicle Lane Usage), I noticed the following:

Note: If you purchased a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle on or after January 1, 2018, and your gross annual income is above the thresholds provided in FAQ #10, a CAV decal cannot be issued to you if you have received a consumer rebate through CARB’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). If your gross annual income is above specified thresholds, you may have to choose between a CAV decal and a CVRP rebate. For additional information, visit CARB's website at www.arb.ca.gov.

I received a rebate from the CVRP in December. So this might explain why I might not be getting my decal? Or will they not put 2 and 2 together and perhaps I may still receive it?
