I just picked up a 2020 xle awd-e and so far am not impressed about the super cut down head unit. Basically an am/fm radio with bluetooth. What option do I have for adding xm radio? Can I just get an inexpensive tuner, or do I have to get a 300$ kit? I was trying to avoid getting a radio and using the aux in as I would like a more factory installed look. I have been taking a look around, but I do not remember seeing anything about specific model numbers for the kits used. There is the 70$ SXV300 connect tuner GSR-TY52 full kit for 300$ Thanks all
What part are you desiring an upgrade? Is it the sound or features? Curious, did it come with Apple CarPlay which was advertised for 2020s? This should open up the doors for internet radio like tunedin Spotify pandora.
Sorry about the long delay, vacation and a few other things got in the way of this project. Apple car play is on the radio, but I use Android. I was hoping to get an add on kit that would work like the xm radio was factory. I instead I got a xm commander, and no need instructions to take apart a 2020 dash so I can install it. Are there any vids or instructions to take apart a 2020 Prius XLE dash to get behind the radio?
This should help I don’t have a tuner but installed a 3rd party head unit. I’m not sure how the antenna will sound if you don’t install outside, whether putting on your dash will pick up okay.
