I am having the common problem of brake light, ABS, VSC all being illuminated. I was told by the local Toyota dealer after a diagnostic check that I had a failure in part 04003-44647 which comes up as "actuator assembly, brake". I can't seem to find anywhere I can buy this part used. I am wondering if this is a component within a larger part, like Actuator and Pump Assembly, ID 44500-47090 Actuator and Pump Assembly, ID 44500-47140 Actuator and Pump Assembly, ID 44510-47050
Looks like 44500-47141 is the current part number: Anti-Lock Brakes for 2007 Toyota Prius | AutoNation Toyota Gulf Freeway I am not aware that it is possible to replace a component within that larger assembly.
There's been at least one recent report of somebody somehow sourcing an accumulator that fits, and replacing that (only useful if that's where the problem is, of course). Don't know how easy to find the thread, but it was in the last few months, I think. The poster described unscrewing the old accumulator without bleeding off pressure first, and firing it across the room. Wouldn't be my first choice. Like carelessly opening some champagne, except instead of a piece of cork you've got a couple compact pounds of steel, and the bubbly probably doesn't produce 2,000 psi.
