2008 Toyota Prius- Brakes don’t work...

    The ABS and brake lights are on but that wasn’t what really scared me. I was reversing and I pressed on the brakes to stop. It made a high-pitched beep noise and it didn’t stop, I kept pressing on the brakes and the car finally stopped abruptly after three-five seconds of pressing on the brakes. This has happened 3 times to me while reversing. I don’t know much about Prius’s and this has never happened to me. If anybody has ever experienced this or has any knowledge, that would be greatly appreciated !

    most likely the master cylinder. how many miles on her? any dash lights?

    The error codes related to those warning lights will tell you specific details about what needs fixing...

    You obviously have a problem with the brakes I would take it to a mechanic and have the car looked over. Prius has a normal brake system and any mechanic can look it over.

    SM-J737T1 ?

    Not necessarily. It could be a problem with hydraulic system. Which is why starting by reading fault codes would be the best option.
