Way too much work to move my dryer first. And even worse getting it back and vent actually connected. I'd be much better off passing any of my winnings along to the runner up.

If plugged into the 240v dryer outlet, and you were charging your cell phone, would it charge up faster than on a 120v?

I actually used my 240v adapter to charge my cell phone for about a week last summer as an experiment, but I never checked for charging length of time.

Maybe I give it a try soon....

For USB-compliant outlet power blocks, no. For old fashioned device-specific chargers, it may vary.

I performed this test using my USB voltage and amp meter.

The results were exactly the same at 120v and 240 volts.

That's a way cool USB power meter! Maybe I shouldn't ask if a blender blends any faster if plugged into 240. ;)

Thank you Rob43 for helping me making that 240v adapter back then...I'm still using it every day with OEM charger without issue. (y)

Hi Rob, I am in Western Australia and Toyota do not bring the Prius PHV ( prime ) into Australia so I am looking at importing one from Japan. However they use 120 volts and here we use 240 volts. So I think that your charging adaptor is the way foreward. I am not sure if your connection would fit a Japanese plug and am hoping that you can advise on the wiring. I can get japanese sockets here and get it wired up to a Australian 10 amp plug. a wiring diagram would be useful Thanks Malcolm

Actually Australia uses 230 volts, 50 Hz. Japan uses 100 volts and either 50 Hz or 60 Hz depending on the region.
