Ah, but that's the beauty of a Prius! It will not be running 12 hours a day. A Prius doesn't "run" when it is standing still. Long periods of idling ( a thing most taxis do) are just plain horrible for a car.
Hard to imagine a better vehicle to operate there as a taxi. And when you sit in a cue waiting for a trip instead of getting out and pushing the cab to avoid starting the engine like so many do, instead place it in EV and move it a few feet electrically each time, and the engine never starts. All the other drivers will hate you....
