TOOK GEMA, MY 2014 PRIUS C LEVEL 4 TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A NEW 12 VOLT BATTERY INSTALLED....I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE PRICE BUT WAS HAPPY THEY ONLY CHARGED 40.00 FOR LABOR AND 216.00 FOR THE BATTERY....FUNNY THING IS THEY TOLD ME I HAD A SMALL BACK UP LIGHT OUT AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME 10.00 FOR THE LIGHT AND 40.00 TO INSTALL IT....I POLITELY PAID MY BILL AND SAID....NO THANK YOU...I NOW HAVE 54,500 ON HER....SHE RUNS WONDERFUL AND NO PROBLEMS AT ALL....
congrats, that is a great price, especially considering it's under the seat. were you having trouble?
It is an easy DIY job, just make sure you get the clip aligned when pushing it back on or the assy will stick out just a bit rather than be flush with the rear fender. It took me a couple weeks to notice that had happened the last time a light was changed on the used c I just got.
NO TROUBLE, BUT I WAS WORRIED THE BATTERY MAY GO OUT AND I WOULD BE STUCK ON THE ROAD...THE BATTERY WAS GOING ON SIX YEARS OLD....
That's a good price for a Toyota battery, and fair installation charge, too. I paid $205 for the Toyota battery (00544-21181-320), and installed it yesterday. 6+ years on the original battery. Like the OP, I saw little reason to try to have the longest-lasting 12V only to get stranded some day. Having it under the seat is a trifle inconvenient, but it stays nice and clean that way.
