I drive a TON, but I've only had it happen a couple times. Happened again 2 days ago though. I'm not sure, but maybe somebody can confirm, that if you do not power your car down for 12 hrs. it will ask you if you need a break.... For me though, even if I'm not actually driving, I often will leave it powered up for my heater, phone charging, etc... So its possible my car might stay powered up for 30+ hours... even though I got an hour or two nap in, here and there.
Granted, even just stopping to get gas, is enough to reset it. But typically fill up before starting a shift. New years I ran out a full tank.... had to stop to fill up, and by the time I got home, I was on 1/4 tank again. Think I drove about 800 miles, on that shift. Good $$$ though ;)

Don't know how Toyota's work......but my Ford will "alert" me if:
There is NO input on the steering wheel for XX number of seconds.
    or
There is an excessive number of steering corrections or maybe BIG ones, not sure.

I had to turn that feature OFF because it was waking up my "sleeping beauty"......and that is NOT good. :ROFLMAO:

I think the system is just programmed to gauge your attentiveness like if you're straying off lanes, etc. I remember a Toyota training video that mentions that these queues are only reset when the car is turned off so it could just be the sheer amount of time you've had it running that those queues added up so the car thinks you need rest. Other than that, if its bothering you, I believe you can turn it off in via the controls on the wheel.

Yeah it came on around 3-4 hours of continuous driving when we were on a road trip.

I've put in some serious hours driving. We recently went about five hours without shutting down (did stop for traffic lights) without any notices. The only time I got it was on the Interstate in 50 mph cross winds. It came up once before I fine tuned my compensation for the winds. And if I'm not mistaken, lane keep assist has to be on. I only use LKA on long, long trips in case I do let myself get too tired.

    I don't know...
I was driving my Honda Fit the other day, when I swear I heard a voice that was asking me where I went wrong with my entire life. Why I squandered my relative brilliance, and why I never learned to either play a musical instrument or speak a foreign language.
    Does that count?

I've had that alert every once in awhile but I don't think it has anything to do with time the car is on or how long you are driving. It must be looking at some set of sensor parameters, like someone mentioned, maybe like drifting over lines or a certain kind of movement on the steering wheel.

I've had it twice - once on a narrow mountain pass where I was moving close to the centre & side markings and the LDA beeped at least a dozen times. The other time was in roadworks where we had witches caps so that we were driving close to the centre-line marking and LDA kept beeping.

It figured that I was snoozing and suggested COFFEE.

Yes, I could have turned off LDA but figured it wouldn't be for long.

It happened to me on a long drive. I was tired and going over the lines a bit and then and asked me if I wanted to find a rest stop. Ice I prompted yes it got me to a place off the highway where I can get coffee

My Prius 4 did that if I removed my hands from the steering wheel for a couple of seconds. Not sure how many seconds and I did not want to find out by experimenting with it.

Does the "LDA with steering control" actually correct the steering?

Sort of. It's very weak. Nothing like the lane centering on some cars. More of a nudge that'll probably be too little and too late if you've fallen asleep.

We seem to have occasional infestations of traffic cones here in FL and they will actually shut off a lane of traffic simply because of all the traffic cones blocking it.

I see the smaller ones used in private carparks to indicate a reserved space etc - the larger red one is used by MainRoads etc.
