Changed the Headunit in my 2019 Prius

    So I had the stock bare bones non JBL system.

    Replaced with.

    Kenwood DDX9906XR
    iMastreo Data Link
    JL Audio VX 1000/5i
    JL Audio 10 Inch sub for the back.
    Focal Utopia 165W-XP for the front speakers mid bass in the door tweeters from this set in the desk up front I removed the 2 inch stock set in the dash.

    stock speakers in the back tell next month will replace with focal Utopia(2000$ for a set so could only afford the front for now lol)

    this system setup sounds unbelievable now.

    I do keep all steering wheel controls.
    Middle instrument cluster still works perfectly fine.

    Backup camera works and also keeps the lines and automatically comes on when driving. Also can turn on the camera while driving forward which is cool.

    This unit also supports blind spot camera which I’ll add later.

    I had it professionally installed and there was zero issues.

    total cost was around 6500$

    Only thing you do lose is the energy monitor.

    WoW ! I don't know if your still around here, but this system sounds freaking awesome !!! I just finished my system using the stock HU and a DSP. I think it sounds really good, for what it is, but reading the description of yours, I'm sure yours is in another league.

    But wait.... you didn't mention your amplifier(s) ? What are you pushing all of this with ? No problems with your electrical system ???

    The jl audio vx1000 is his amplifier which looks to be 75 watts a channel with a 600 watt subwoofer.

    Okay, so that's a little more than my system. Id really love to hear this setup, or one like it, with aftermarket HU, so I could see how much difference there was than with using my stock HU in conjunction with a DSP ?
