Yeah, meant more of the bulbs themselves since they went out a few months ago and are quite difficult to remove. But since I removed the entire assembly itself I was able to very easily switch them out.

My ballasts came on Wednesday night and last night and despite making it home at 11pm decided to say forget sleep and get these bad boys finally working.

Low and behold we're in business!

Thanks a lot for helping me out through this process @trentofdestiny !

I just found this thread and will be reading through it, but can anyone tell me which LED modules I need? I have a 2010 that came with halogen headlights, which I changed to aftermarket LED housings. However, I'd like to upgrade to OEM LED housings. I currently have a drivers side LED housing that looks like this:
It was sold to me as a "2012-2015 headlight assembly." Is that correct? It didn't come with ballasts, but I also don't see a spot for the ballast to sit in, like in this image:

What modules would I need for my LED headlight assembly (the first image)? I ordered a used LED module I found labeled 85967-47020, but then saw that there are two different ones, 85967-47020 and 85967-30070, so I'm a bit confused now.

Need to see more/better pics of your existing housing but it does not look like it is for a Prius standard body style.

I would like to point out that the "correct" housings for your 2010 should look like this, i.e. has a round reflector for the high beam. Adjustments.jpg

Here are some more pics. I was under the impression that the 2012-2015 headlight housings would fit the 2010 as well. Is that wrong?

That headlight is for Prius V not regular Prius and it is halogen not LED hence no ballast location. LED has two projector "eyes" not one. Yes the 2010-11 and 2012-15 LED headlamps will interchange physically. Slight difference in wiring.

Oh crap, it was actually listed as being for the Prius V when I bought it. I just though that was a trim level. However, it was listed as being an LED housing, not halogen... Did I get scammed? I don't think I can do anything about it though, as I bought it off of eBay months ago.

But anyways, thank you for your help!

Technically, Prius v is the model and Prius V is a trim level 5 but it's just a capital letter difference. I have seen several used auto parts places selling on eBay as LED when they are obviously not. If it had been recently bought I would have you return it.

It's been a few months, and eBay no longer shows me a return option so I guess I'm out of luck there.

What are the differences between the two LED module numbers, 85967-47020 and 85967-30070? Is 85967-47020 for the 2012-2015 Prius, and 85967-30070 for the 2010-2011 Prius? If so, are the modules 'vehicle specific' or 'housing specific'? What I mean is, is 85967-47020 for the 2012-2015 Prius, or is 85967-47020 for the 2012-2015 Prius's headlights (since the headlights are physically interchangeable)? Hopefully that makes sense

85967-30070 is the newer style 2012-2015. Has one plug. Steel housing. Mounts inside plastic cover on bottom of headlight.
85967-47020 is the older style 2010-2011. Has two plugs. Aluminum housing. No extra cover needed.

The modules are headlight specific only in the sense that you must match the 1-plug or 2-plug setup.

The module I used for my 2012 was actually a different part number - for Lexus GX460 and was much cheaper than the one looked up for Prius.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

I need advice from some of the experts here. So I smashed my LED headlight and bought a used one from ebay (MDE1313407L). However, dealership says the product code that I need is different. Mine is a Toyota Prius 2012. I have posted pictures of the light and module area here.

Secondly, which module do I need? I have seen 81107-47380 and 85967-30070 which look exactly the same. There is also 85967-47020 which would be ill suitable for this headlight.

I would really appreciate the help as I need to order the module and back cover soon. Thanks! E9B318D9-C53E-4CCF-AFF6-722E2BD76E9F.jpeg

No problem Kasim. You need the module in a steel box, plastic cover, gasket, 4 screws. You ought to be able to use the old module from your old headlight, unless it got full of water. I have attached a picture of the module you need.

The part number should not make much difference if you are buying used, just remember, one plug in the module area is the plastic cover with steel module, and 2 plugs would be the 85967-47020 which is the aluminum module (heat sink built in) for the older 2010-2011 Prius LED headlamps.

Thanks Trent, I really appreciate it.

unfortunately I dumped the old module with the broken headlight due to a lack of knowledge about led headlights.

lastly, what is the gray plug for? I have noticed It has a pin missing. I have attached a photo. Will it work and is there anything else I should check on this led headlight I received?

The big gray plug that's dirty? In the pics above? Is the main connector for the entire light.

Yeah I don't think that it needs to have all 6 in there. I think it is normal.

Just upgraded the wife’s 2012 halogen low beams to 6,000L Katana LEDs, and the high beams to 6,000L Sealight LEDs. They seem to work great BUT, curiously the engine ran while idling a couple times despite the battery showing near full charged, and the car was warm. Should I be concerned the LEDs (and fans on the low beams) are sucking power requiring the engine to run when it typically wouldn’t?

How warm? Could you see the engine coolant temperature?

There are enough things that can fire up the ICE, including low coolant or catalyst temperatures, that we just don't know yet that there was any connection.

How much current that the lamps rated to draw? How does this compare to the factory lamps?
