Recently our driver's door lock stopped working on our 2014 Prius C. When attempting to lock the car with the remote or smart key lock functionality, it would beep 6 or so times. The interior door lock switch would work either. In order to lock it, we would have to manually force the inside lock button. After getting a ridiculous quote from the dealership and doing some research on this forum, we bought a refurbished actuator from actuatorsplus on ebay. The install went relatively smoothly while following along with a youtube video. The interior door lock switch, lock button, remote lock/unlock, and smart key touch UNLOCK all work perfectly. The problem is the smart key touch LOCK doesn't work. When touching the lock sensor on the door handles there is no feedback whatsoever (no beeps, can't hear any mechanical/electrical systems trying to work, etc.) We reinstalled the old one to make sure we didn't mess something up or forget something during installation and the touch lock mechanism worked again (6 beeps due to faulty lock motor). This made us assume the refurbished actuator unit was faulty so we asked for a replacement. Just finished installing the replacement with the same problem. Now we don't know what to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I didn't have that feature but maybe just replacing the motor and using the original actuator would be the next thing to try. If it works please comment on the video or the forum post. 2014 Prius C Door Lock Actuator Replacement | PriusChat
