    Meet up with the guy
Before I got it, I pulled the dip stick and Milk Shake. LOL
So yeah, Head Gasket is toast.

The body is Straight and the Title is Clean, No Accidents. 208,784 miles
Just some small dents that I will fix.

He told me the he plugged in a code reader and it showed Water pump (that is all he remembered)

So I gave him some Cash and hauled it home.

11/30/2019 Hooked up the Tech Stream:

    ------------------------------------------------
    Engine and ECT
    P0300 Random misfire
    p0301 misfire
    p0302
    p0303
    p0304

p261c ENGINE coolantPump"B" Control Circuit Low

    Hybrid Control
    P0A0F Engine Faild to Start

    ABC/VSC/TRAC
C1259 HV Control System Regenerative Malfunction

    Air Conditioner
B1442 Air inlet Damper ControlServo Motor

    Combination Meter
B1503 Exhaust Heat Management warning Detected

    ----------------------------------------------------
Looks like the Engine water pump stopped and the guy kept driving.

I thought of doing a head gasket job, but it almost has 209,000 miles

So I decided to just put in a engine with lower miles...

    12/2/2019
    I ordered a Engine with 93,000 miles for $1200

    That's all for now.
I should get the engine delivered on 12/6/2019

    -------------------
I will keep you updated as the project continues

Looks like aftermarket wheels too. So you might be able to make money off those if the engine doesn't work out.

Make sure you clean the EGR before installing the new motor.

What is a running 2012 with 209k worth? You’ll have 2K+ invested into this one in order to get it running, which is probably not much less than what the car is worth. Hopefully the HV battery is still good.

You're doing great, especially if you just want to drive the car, not sell it.

Engine transplant does not roll back the miles on a lot of other potential headaches, but yeah I think if this is just going to be a personal vehicle, not a quick resale, you're good.

In a addition to all the stuff mentioned above: clean the intake manifold (special attention to the EGR passages), drain and fill the transaxle, change the brake fluid, full brake inspection.

Consider an Oil Catch Can too.

Those numbers seem a bit high. In my area, any running Prius (regardless of model year) with 150K+ seem to fetch between 4-6K depending on condition and luck.

I would just be careful about how much you put into this car. You’re going to need more than just the engine to complete the swap properly - water pump, plugs, thermostat, egr cleaning, etc. Plus the rest of the car may have other maintenance or wear/tear items that need addressing.

This would have been a steal to just part out.

    Update:

    The Engine Showed up Today.

    upload_2019-12-4_17-7-38.jpeg

I ordered Rear Main Seal, Intake & Exhaust Manifold Gaskets Plus the Valve Cover gasket.
Next I will order the Water pump w/gasket,

and buy the Spark plugs, oil filter, thermostat w/gasket, Fresh Coolant, trans Fluid etc.......

-I have a shelf full of 0-20 so no need to buy more of that!-
It's going to be easy to remove the EGR and intake manifold with the engine out.

I will go over the EGR, Manifold and throttle body with a fine tooth comb.

I will pull the hybrid Battery and test and check individual cell voltage and load test.
The Tech Stream did NOT show any issues with any cells, so that's a plus.

So nice that I work at an Auto Parts Store. Ha!

That's cool that it arrived with The EGR system intact. Oh, and intake manifold.

Hopefully the oil pan isn't squished. I think that's a thing: they plunk them on a pallet with little thought to the weight bearing on the oil pan. Judging from the pic that's not the case with yours though.
