Thanks to everyone who came to our jersey meet. Proco (Mike) wins the prize for driving from the jersey shore across the state to Milford! Outside by the cars, from left to right- jeannie, robertm, proco, barbaram, rand reed and iDonna[attachmentid=5031] Here is the merry bunch inside the Ship Inn! from left to right: rand reed, iDonna,Proco, barbaram, jeannie and robertm[attachmentid=5032] the funny thing was, Milford is very small, and I usually see only 1 other Pri when I go there. Today there were at least 4 others beyond our group! the other funny thing is that everyone else has a technology driven job except me and here am I doing the post! B) Hope to see more of you next meet! PS- I have more pics if any one wants the original files to make prints, let me know!
Thanks for organizing it, Barbara! It was fun, the beer was great, and I enjoyed my pub pie. Hay, Danny, now that we have a group that has actually MET, can we get a New Jersey Club in the CLUBS forum?
Serious mad props to Barb for organizing and bringing us together from all over NJ. One other strange factoid: 3 of us work at the 3 most widely knows universities. Donna @ Princeton, Rob @ Rutgers & me @ Seton Hall. Now, Danny, about that NJ Group in the Clubs forum ...
Hey,people, that is great!!! I have followed the Pa thread but nothing developed. We would talk and then it always fell apart. Guess I will have to join the NJ group. Last week, I did a week of road trip vacation. Got back late on 9-16-06. When I checked Priuschat and saw the meet, I just was not ready for more driving. Hope the meet was enjoyable- looks like it from the pics. Please include me in any future meets.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Salsawonder @ Sep 17 2006, 09:56 PM) </div> It looks better than most people think. We just prefer that outsiders think the whole state looks like it does around Newark Airport.
I don't know if anyone else has yet, but I sent a PM to Danny about getting that elusive NJ sub-forum. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Proco @ Sep 18 2006, 10:19 AM) </div> Well, hell, I'm a day late & a dollar short! Yay forum! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(barbaram @ Sep 18 2006, 10:16 AM) </div> I'll be in Boston that weekend. But don't let that stop you from having a good time in my absence!
Hey, I've been there! I live in Virginia but my wife's family lives in New Jersey and we've been to the Ship Inn a couple of times on visits. Their beer is great, and the British foods are tasty if you can handle them. Did anyone get a scotch egg? Scotch Egg = a hard boiled egg, completely coverd in sausage and bread crumbs, deep-fried, and then served cold. I'm less regular just thinking about them.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Proco @ Sep 18 2006, 10:21 AM) </div> I suspect Danny heard from several of us today - I'm glad you added your voice to our 'non-negotiable demands' <you can tell I went to college in the 60's>. Thanks - and you're right, you DON'T look quite so purple in person! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(M. Knight @ Sep 18 2006, 11:36 AM) </div> I didn't get a Scotch Egg, but I used to get them at the 'local' when I visited another plant just outside London back in the 80's - that, or a Ploughman's <yum>. I got a cheese and onion pie - I was sorely tempted by the shepherd's pie. The bitter was very good, but the porter was even better! So look us up when you're visiting the in-laws!
