OMG!!! I saw a preview trailer for "The Last Kiss" this last weekend, and Zach Braff like totally destroys a black Prius! He crashes into this gimongous tree, and then the tree like falls on the car! It was crazy! It was like....yeah! (Please note: I tried to emulate my teenage daughter in describing what we saw.)
Who the heck is Zach Braff, and why would he want to crash a Prius? I thought real movie stars drive their Prius as a good example for all of us.
I had to go over and download the trailer to my iPod. It appears that he is in a hurry to get to his girlfriend and/or is chasing her because of a misunderstanding, losed control and hits a small tree in a rowhouse type area. I think the crash isn't supposed to be exciting, but his character does drive it....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(subarutoo @ Jul 11 2006, 03:26 PM) </div> SCRUBS is a show he is on. NBC TV. It's a great show, at least I think so. Your view may vary.
When I saw the trailer, you don't actually see the car get smashed... just see it heading toward the tree, and then the shot changes. Has anyone that has actually seen the whole scene in the movie confirm if it actually got smashed up? Oh yeah, and the movie was at least partially filmed right here in Madison, WI.
When I see the trailer on tv, every time, I say "ouch". I own a black Prius, and it seems as if the tree falls on MY car!
Saw the movie. It is basically a scene **SPOILER ALERT** were Braff's character is cheating on his girlfriend. He tells his friend to lie for him while he is out with the other girl. But, his friend ends up at another friends house and the girlfriend finds him there - sans Braff's character. She eventually figures it out and Braff is on his way back home, she calls him up and screams at him, he loses control of the car and hits the tree. Not a hard hit at all. The tree then proceeds to fall on the roof of the car. No Prii were harmed in the making of this movie.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(iluvmacs @ Sep 17 2006, 11:00 PM) </div> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Saw "The Last Kiss" yesterday. Actually, he swerves to miss a taxi heading right for him. THEN - he runs into this tree. But, he seems to NOT hit it very hard? After a few moments, the tree falls on his car. The tree isn't very big. He is able to back out into the street & take off. It's funny - - his car doesn't display any visible damage?
I saw the movie too. I hope all our Prii hold up as well as Zach's did in the film. After the tree fell on it...it didn't appear a bit damaged. But I did wince when it fell! Actually, it was fun watching the shots filmed in the interior of the car. I was looking at the distinctive Prius back window while the characters were talking. By the way, did anyone notice they removed the headrest behind Zach's head in one of the scenes? The Last Kiss makes Zach Braff an honorary Cool Chic with a Black Prius!!! Love the line where he says (something like) "Who would have thought a 20K car would be so cool?" (ummm...20K???)
Zach Braff? Huh?!?! Stories like this are why I don't own a TV set or see (with a few exceptions) most mainstream motion pictures. Let me guess, he did a few local theater productions in high school, entered a modelling contest, and now he's a star... Why do we care about such people? And why do their actions (or those, in this case, of their character) even matter?
