Thank you for visiting our HomeLink website and for your inquiry. HomeLink is not compatible with the frequency of your gate opener. The frequency of the DoorKing MicroPlus system is on a different algorithm (computer language) and is too complex for your HomeLink system to pick up. Please be advised, if this is a community gate there is nothing we can do. If this is a private gate we do have a Universal Receiver available for your private gate. This receiver, when used with HomeLink, will bypass the frequency of the gate operator, however, the hand-held remote will still operate your gate when they are used. You can contact your local gate dealer for this device or feel free to email us about it or you can call our HomeLink customer. The cost of a Universal Receiver is approximately $86.35+s/h. We apologize for any inconveniences. Please contact us again if you have additional comments or questions. COMMENTS: how to program the homelink on the prius how to reset it if it already programmed
Bummer. I had to put a brand new battery in my remote to get it trained right (even though the battery was not that old- funny it was so picky)....
I really don't see how it's a bag of bull****. There was no guarantee of compatibility that I saw anywhere. I guess I got lucky. I got mine to open my garage door AND my development's security gate. Guess they don't use DoorKing. Funny thing though, I was able to program the gate on my Homelink, but not in the Volvo. Differfent version? Oh well. Life goes on. All I can say is suck it up and use the standard clicker.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(inventor00 @ Sep 17 2006, 07:38 PM) </div> maybe it wasn't the battery so much as it may have been that you reset it by pulling out the battery. I don't know that for a fact, but many things reset at thier default settings from firmware on the chips when all power is momentarily lost. You may have gotten corruption somehow.... it should be ok now I would think.
No problem here setting homelink for my garage door, but my teenager set up without explaining what he did, so I can't help there. I just know that it works when I want to open my door.
I for the life of me can't remember which door openers I have, but ran into a somewhat similar problem. I even went as far as to find out that my door openers were too new and not supported by Homelink. We'd built our house about a year earlier and bought fairly new technology door openers, so it's possible, bummer... But then, I carefully and methodically parsed the wording on the homelink instructions and came up with the sequence of events that it took to get my openers to work with the Prius homelink. I went so far as to include a blurb on one of my web pages so I can come back to remember what the heck I did if my door openers ever forget about my car opener or something. http://spicher1.home.comcast.net/02_2006/16/a.htm It's a bit of a long shot, but on that page I hope I broke down their wording against my needed actions in order to get the thing to work, an who knows if it will help you. Probably not if 'frequency' is really your problem.
