Sorry to ask this as I'm sure it's been asked and answered many times but: Is it necessary to use the Toyota dealer to do an oil change? I would never use JL after a very bad experience but how about just a normal reputable shop? My deceased husband always did everything with our cars and he was adamant about using the dealer shop for everything...but he is no longer the provider and money is tight. So far my 2010 Prius has been perfect and I love her. But does she need dealer oil?
welcome! no, but stay away from all the chains. if you know a reputable local mechanic, that would be best. how many miles on her? it might be better to sell if money is tight, and pick up a used corolla or etc.
Where are you in Pasadena? Olive Auto Center in Burbank is my favorite local shop. I've been going there for years and they do top notch work for very fair prices. An oil change would be really straightforward there.
We had a Corolla loaner when our baby was in for minor bodywork. I suffered from clinical depression...
I had one as a loaner, too. Thankfully, it was only for a couple days. Worse yet? We had a Nissan Versa rental and rove it over 1,000 miles. Yeesh!! No redeeming virtues at all.
A Corolla would put me in clinical depression for sure. I have no idea why I dislike that car so much. Prius took me a while to warm up to but now it's true love
