I had a vendor attempt to have a remote start put on my 2010 Prius. He stated that he wired it in, but could not get it to work, this remote had it own FOB. After disconnecting the aftermarket remote system, I have the air bag light on/off, and blinking seatbelt disconnect lights lit up, by the glove box, I also have the airbag light in the dash lit up. Other things going on are, dome light does not come on when opening door, (will turn on, if I use the switch to turn on) but the light that is located at the bottom of door lights up. My FOB’s will not lock/unlock the doors, I must hold the FOB directly on the push start, to get it started. Trip A, and B resets every time I exit the car, and start it back up, both trips go to Zero, plus the clock is at 1, am or pm.

I have disconnected the rear battery, but I have not messed with the wire connectors underneath the seats. I put new batteries in the FOB’s. Could the FOB’s need reprogrammed? Thanks in advance

It’s difficult to say, without knowing exactly what was done to your car, but I can’t think of any problem with the keys (remotes) that would also cause the other symptoms you describe. I suspect that part of the wiring has been damaged or disconnected, or perhaps that the remote starter (or some other extraneous device) is interfering with multiplex communication among the car’s computers.

I’d suggest troubleshooting each problem, one at a time, using the information in the Repair Manual (more info) and Electrical Wiring Diagram.

Thanks, they did remove all the remote wiring etc.
I wonder if the 125 DC DC fuse located under the engine compartment, fuse box is the problem

It's either that or the gas cap. Simple elimination.

Take it back and make them fix it.
Or remove it and put it back to original.

Or take it to Toyota and have them fix it and make the place pay for it...

vendor, I could have misspelled it, in this case, what I mean by it was a place that installs radios, electronic devices, remote starters etc.

    Get your ECU checked.

Or start by letting the ECU tell you what it thinks needs to be checked.

I'm with Elektro, ASR, and bisco in thinking there was some simple oversight in the vendor putting their toys away.

    How old is your 12v?
    Have you checked the health?

Could they have drained it during installation?

    Does car start no issue?

Not sure on the age, but the volts are good, over 14 when first started. Cant recall for sure, but before starting I think it was hi 12's

when you hold the fob to the push button, starts great.

Last night I did drop the panel, the one with the TPMS button on, looked at the wiring, I did find 2 strands of coated wire, I assume that they was using to hook up the remote, it was taped to the existing wire harness going to the OBD port. Other than that looked pretty clean down there. Looks like there is a air bag in that area, so I didn't do much more then look. If I start moving wires around in that area, do I unhook the 12 volt battery, just to be safe on air bag not going off? what about disconnecting the big battery also, by removing the orange switch?

I don't think this is factory wiring, didn't see any same color under there.

if you have to hold the fob to the pushbutton, the fob battery is dead.

and you are correct, there is no sks button under the dash on gen3.

I changed the battery, and also tried the other remote.
I'm wondering if they may have burned a fuse up somewhere. Thanks

maybe the sks wire has been disconnected, or the fuse burnt
