I have 2 keys but apparently I've lost one key inside the car and I can't find it. I can't lock the car with the other key because the car thinks there is a key inside the car, which is true.
If it was me, I would get a box, or plastic storage box, and garbage bag. Then, I would start cleaning out every nook and cranny in the car. Just my two cents ("$0.02"). Eventually, you will find the other key fob (and also have a fabulously clean and organized car).
Turn car on... And take things out, and then close door. If it is not beeping 3 times then the key is still inside. My suggestion would be the space between the arm rest center console for seat belt. I always drop my keys in there. Personaly i hide the fob in the sunglass holder. nobody can figure it out.
get down low with a flashlight and look at the inner front seat rail areas from front and back, sliding the seat in the opposite direction
Park in a garage? It might not be in the car if you're trying to lock the car at home and the other key is on a hook by the car.
If you turn the SKS button off you will be able to lock the car with the other fob. You will need to use the lock and unlock buttons for the doors and insert the fob into the slot to run the car though.
I have these in all my cars they sell cheaper plastic ones. Catches anything dropped and also catches alot of dust and debris. They work great. There a AS Seen On TV. key fob is probably in between or under the seats.get a flashlight.
If the missing fob is not in the car the other fob would lock the car. The car is smart enough to work out if the fob is inside the car or not. The OP is correct, the fact she can't lock the car means the missing fob is inside the car. Somewhere.
This a serious suggestion. But if you've looked, and you can't find it? Sometimes just having someone else look is a good move. You can be overlooking some area or spot that a new set of eyes might see. So my advice is give up, and have friend take a look for you. If that doesn't result in a found fob? Then 2 people looking is better than one. And yes, you need a good flashlight.
You can still lock the doors if you press the button to lock the doors by the window controls on the drivers door while exiting. And unlock them with the one fob.
