I feel odd that we've had my wife's 2012 Prius V for about 2 years now, and just noticed this in the engine compartment.

    Attached is a picture:

Over on the driver's side, close to the fuse-box, between it and the fluid reservoir, there is a place where 2 connectors plug in. But only one connector seems to have a protective hood, the one in the rear.

    How bad is this?

We bought it used, seemed to be in pretty good condition, and we're usually pretty eagle-eyed about going over cars to buy. It's saved us from some real lemons.

But somehow we and our mechanics missed seeing this. IMG_20191025_135515160_HDR.jpg

They are all like that, as delivered. There is a $25-ish JDM grey plastic hood that can be bought to cover the forward splay of wires.

Does seem absurd to only cover 50% of the connectors. Looks even worse than if they were all bare.

After Georgina recommended this in another thread, I ordered the part from lexuspartsnow.com, cost me $17, half of which was shipping. Snaps in place.

On that site, is there SOME way, after you've entered the part number, to circumvent the "what Lexus is this for?" question? This is driving me nuts lol. I tried to fake it out, said CT200, but no parts for me. No sir..., it knows...

The hood is a tight fit in the retainer. Do the installation on a warm day after allowing the hood to soften up a bit so it clicks easily into place.

Is there a number missing in that part number? Should be two five digit numbers??

    @Centerpunch would you know?

Use a hair dryer to warm up the part. My wife laughs every time I take my golf shoes from the unheated garage into the bathroom and borrow her hair dryer to warm them up.

I just ordered through the Amayama site (Japanese site, linked above). Had a little trouble getting through the payment process, they suggested to try a different browser, and that did the trick. $15.07 CDN (with shipping, $4.96 for the part), and looking at 2~3 weeks to come. (y)

Very nicely packaged item arrived today, across the Pacific from Amayama, in Osaka, Japan. :)

Clicked into place very positively, nicely made, should have been there all along. (y)

Just to stir the pot a bit more, this is on the left side of the inverter (engine side, air filter box at bottom of pic), some bare wires going in. Notice the grey plastic lever surround, which looks similar to the lever at the missing cover on ECU. Wonder if there's a (Lexus?) part for this?

    IMG_2539.JPG

I appreciate there's a full inverter cover, but I'm thinking just for these exposed wires.

That link is only about the missing ECU cover? I've got that one (see my directly previous post). The one I'm noticing now is on the passenger side of the inverter. Might be turd polishing, but meh.

Can someone tell, if this cover (82821-76010) would fit (or is needed at all) the 11/2019 TOYOTA YARIS (NSP150L-HHXDGG)?

A friend of mine has the Yaris. If I buy it for my Prius, I could buy one for him too, but I'm pretty sure, he can not tell me, if it fits ;)
