Snap On tools are still considered the gold standard but aren't necessary for a DIY type who may only change spark plugs once.

 

I got a 9/16" Jet socket for around $30 CDN, when I was behind the 8 ball. Just a plain socket, no rubber insert to hold the plug. Then at my leisure, a got a set of 4 swivel sockets through Princess Auto (including 9/16"), with the rubber inserts, for about $20. There's a moral in there somewhere I suppose.

 

Are there Harbor Freight stores in Canada, I never heard anyone say?

I see brand name spark plug sockets on Amazon for $4.

 

Princess Auto is the rough equivalent. You see a lot of guys just wandering around in there, in a happy trance.
