So I've had "Totoro" for two weeks now, drove my first 300 miles and got down to about 1/4 tank and figured it was time to "top him off" and see what kind of mileage I'm really getting. First thrill was the fact that for the first time in years and years and years, I not only got back change from a $20, it wasn't just pennies and quarters, but actual *dollars* of change! (And my last car was a relatively thrifty '94 Saturn SL2). Second thrill was when I did the math. 319 miles. 6.28 gallons. That's 51 MPG!!! Of course, I realize this is nothing new to the rest of y'all ... ;D I'm so psyched! I can't wait to see what I get once the engine is really broken in and I've perfected the art of stealth driving even further. (Don't 'cha love it when you're going 42 MPH on a slight downhill and *all* the arrows turn off completely as you glide along on gravity?!)
