Hey everybody, I've tracked down my car's problem to probably the skid control ECU, but I can't find a schematic of where it actually is anywhere on the internet. So does anyone know? The closest I've gotten is the Gen 2 Prius schematic showing it under the left side driver side dash just above the driver's legs, but it's definitely not there in my car. On the right side under that dash there's 3 computers or modules of some kind but they're unidentifiable without me taking apart the dash. It seems like there's an enormous gap in documentation of the ins and outs of these cars between Gen 2 and Gen 3. Gen 2 there's a lot. I'm guessing because the age of the cars means more owners fixing them on their own. Ideas? Thanks.
Gen 3 skid ecu is part of the "sub-assembly, brake booster with master cylinder" a/k/a the ABS actuator, I believe.
I’m having issues with the engine not being shutdown when the tires lose traction. What symptoms are you seeing?
ABS, TRAC, brake lights on dash, no regenerative braking, code 1345 and it refuses to relearn the linear solenoid valve learning.
That's interesting seeing as I've been having a hell of a time finding 2010-15 skid control ecus for sale online but ABS modules are plentiful. Maybe it's literally built into the ABS module and I've just never seen that mentioned?
Chap you were right on the money here btw. The dealer replaced the brake booster/pump assembly and the ECU was built right in. Solved all the problems at no cost to me!
Here is a picture of the skid control ECU. It is mounted to the side of the brake actuator. You have to remove the windshield wipers and tray below it to get to it. Also put picture of whole abs/skid control layout.
