I'm sorry to resurrect this thread but I just bought the beamtech h11 LED kit and I feel like they're barely visible! I have a 2010 Prius IV, anyone have any tips? I appreciate any help, I really don't want to have to return these bad boys!

PS. My headlight assembly is clean and new looking haha.

How are the Beamtechs working for you. I have a 2012 prius and I replaced all my interior lights and running lights with led's and they ALL started flickering. Do your headlights flicker at all? Is there a ballast or a way to regulate a steady current on the Beamtechs? Thank you.

Are you still happy with the Beamtechs? Did they ever flicker or do the regulate the voltage ok? I'm worried they will flicker. I've had led's on my prius flicker before. Do you have any other suggestions for bright led headlights? Thank you.

I have had my beamtech since 10/17 and they've been working flawlessly. I bought the fog light version for my Infiniti. Usually LED will start to flicker when it is failing.

Tweedle99, did you simply install the Beamtechs into your stock 2010 light housing? Or did you also upgrade to the LED light housing? I'm asking b/c I see a lot of people saying the LED lights don't project correctly in the halogen light housings like we have on the 2010 Prius.

Just swap it out. Ive read about poor projection of LED lights so I've never used LED for headlights, only HID which has a metal shield on the upper part of the bulbs.

Im not an engineer but just thinking logically. Most LED out there are almost omnidirectional, more led = more lumens. Light output ends up scattering every which way especially if your housing is not designed for such output which end up blind the oncoming drivers.

This beamtech design, however, to me, is a little different. It pretty much have all the lights producing at the side and none at the top so the lights appear more like halogen. The upper cutoff is very similar to a halogen too. I've had both LED and halogen installed side by side just to compare with LED being much brighter and whiter. LED technologies have advanced so much in the past several years so mfr can get higher lumens output per LED.

    just my 2 cents.

tweedle99, From all that I've read about the Beamtechs, that's what I was kind of thinking too. I went ahead and purchased the fanless Beamtechs yesterday.

just recently got a 2012 Prius Two. Super excited about it, but looking to upgrade the headlights as well. I'm hoping to avoid the installations of off-brand LED/HID systems or spending a lot of money on the JDM version. Wondering if the 2010-2015 Prius Five (4 Dr. Hatchback not the wagon) headlights can be easily swapped with the halogen headlights. Looks like the product number is TO2519141OE. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

I previously drove a 2010 Prius 5 with the stock LEDs and loved them. Hit a deer while driving that car and ended up in a 2014 Prius 3 with 100K fewer miles (and halogen headlights). Upgrading headlights was my first priority. My son, a Ford Master Mechanic, found these for me and I installed both low and high beams last year. They do come with a fan on the tail, but have not noticed any noise coming from them that would be a distraction. They put out 4000 lumens per lamp and were easy to install with a pair of nitrile gloves for handling. I've been happy with them when compared to the halogens. It may just be my perception, but they don't seem quite as bright as what my stock LEDs were on my 2010 Prius. I'm trying to find a Toyota sourced article that will tell me how many lumens those lamps had so that I can see if my perception is wrong. Nonetheless, would go to these new ones again as they seem durable and light up the road a lot better than what I had.

I know its an older thread but I want to upgrade my headlights as well, but don't want to blind oncoming traffic. These suggestions seem good but I am wondering how everyones lights are holding up and if any changes have been made or any news since your installs?

It's been 2 years since i got my latest Beamtech LED. Still works great. The orientation of the LED produced a nice cut-off line like regular halogen. No changes in light output that i can tell.

I used to do HID but over time, they fade, but slower than halogen.

I went with the BeamTech 6500k that were posted earlier in the thread, I like them but I am thinking I would have liked 5000 or 6000k better with a little more whiter light. Still not complaining as these are my first ever LED install. Through the low beam projectors the cutoff is fine, nobody flashes me and I am enjoying them alot. I feel part of the 21st century now!

Now what would a good high beam and fog lamp bulb be.....that is my next quest I would like them to all sorta match. BTW my low beams do not shut off with my high beams but the fog lights do.

I'll try to post a pic as well thanks everyone!

I went w/ matching one from Beamtech too so the color will match. I figure the vendor would use the same LED chip in all their products.

As for the little parking light I went w/ these, bulbs were whiter than previous ones i've used.

Hey Munkee, did you like your BeamTechs? How are they holding up?

I also went with the beamtech's for my 2012, I also picked up a pair of the Snowlux for $9 with a promo for the high beams so I can test both, they both retailed for a little less than $40. I'm still testing the beamtechs and have yet to install the high beams till I get car back from collision center.
