Installed new tires, bought from Amazon for $37 each and free shipping. They are Nankang SP-9 175/65R15 and the ride is a lot better than the Hankook they replace. So far I have done 300mi and the ride is significantly quieter and smoother. The mpg so far is around 52mpg which is a mild drop but it’s to be expected with new tires. They have a 560AA UTQG and a 50,000mi warranty. Hope they last because they are a steal for $37.

I just took off the nasty license plate frames (with the advertising) and replaced with a simple black silicone plate. I also got flat clear shields for them to keep the tags from being ripped off but the screws are not long enough (It was raining while putting the frames on and I noticed the clear cover started fogging up - so I might be returning). My Prius C only had two holes drilled in so I only used two screws but it looks cleaner and less crowded with the screw covers on. I also got a cup inverter (not sure I'll ever use it), rain guards for the side mirrors, and ordered a custom solar panel for the hood (still going back and forth on materials (I realized a transparent backing might not be the best option so I have to have another part made to see how mounting will work). I'm still going back and forth on Cargo box on a trailer hitch or on the roof.

Where/how do you connect the 12 volts? Now that it is installed would it be better to install usb ports rather than a 12v outlet? I've been looking to add real usb ports to my prius for over a year.

I tapped off the OEM 12v outlet behind the dash. It is a 12v outlet with an Aukey USB adapter plugged into it.That way I can plug in another 12v accessory if I need to.I did not want to pin myself down to it being only a USB port.

sweet, i have been eyeing these up comparing them to the avid ascend.
I have to retire my tires due to age vrs mileage wear, so thought these nekang might
might just be fine if mpg isnt too big hit or traction inst compromised.

Any update in the last few weeks?

They are great. The road noise and harshness is very low compared to the Hankooks they replaced. Indeed there was a slight mpg hit, like went down a couple but it has slowly began to go up. I believe that might be normal with new tires. Dry and wet traction is excellent in my opinion.
I’m not alone, the reviews on these tires are excellent.

Custom Slim Line solar panel (replaced because the other one is just a tiny bit too wide), new 3d floor and cargo mats, regular black dashboard cover, dual 12v splitter, waterproof seat covers (cheap ones, so they might not be waterproof at all), TWO roof racks (they sent the wrong rack. I also would have preferred all black - I went with the Whispbar S22 with fit kit for a decent price and the correct model sent to me), 50%/20% nano ceramic tint, a center arm rest, Dual USB (yet to be installed waiting for the add-a-fuse). I am still looking for the right rims, a tow bar with dual attachment to use with the waterport and whatever else, waiting on a DVR black box to replace my old camera, and still looking for a cargo box for the roof...

    Will update with photos.....

USB jack 2-1-2020.jpg Decided to go with a dedicated USB 3.0 outlet intead of the 12v outlet with adapter. I can't use the OEM USB outlet as my phone complains that it is not getting enough juice from it.

Finally bit the bullet and installed aftermarket rims: Konig Helium's 15x6.5. Put 175/75/15 tires onto the rims, yes I know they are a bit small to be mounted on 6.5 in rims, but I asked a handful of tire shops and they all said it would be fine and safe. I do like the look, I'm happy I finally did it, as for performance or MPG differences, that's to be determined.

For those who are looking to install new rims, you're probably going to need hubcentric rings, the Prius C hub size is 54.1mm, I couldn't find that information anywhere on the forums.

I got tints all around. They are 43%, which I know is a strange number but in conjunction with stock windows the final number is more like 37% VLT. They are legal because the minimum allowed by law in PR is 35%. I love how they look, can’t believe I wasted so many years without tints .

installed silicone license plate frames front and back, as well as a TRD badge to the front grill. I have experienced an improvement of 10% enjoyment while driving, with no MPG penalty. InkedIMG_1928_LI.jpg InkedIMG_1905_LI.jpg IMG_1909.jpg
