Ok... I replaced two blades and disc. the 12v to clear codes. Buttoned it up (man, that's a job...). Car starts right up no problem yet. Monitoring religiously with Dr. Prius app I go for a drive. Everything is great for about 10mins and then BAM... Red triangle o' doom. The app doesn't show any fault codes at all and I'm perplexed. It doesn't help that I struggle to understand the readouts on Dr. Prius app. Anyone got any advice? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Also, the top image is from 10/25/19 in driveway at idle after my test drive. The bottom image is from 2 days ago.
Disconnected the 12v, cleared codes again. This is the car idling in the driveway... I see Block 12 is always low could that be a problem? I'm still getting zero fault codes through Dr. Prius or Torque Pro. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Which modules did you replace? Did you balance the modules you put in along with all of the other modules? Just swapping out modules doesn’t give a lasting fix . Reconditioning and balancing does. Good luck and keep us posted .
Block 12 is about 1.3 volts lower than the average of the others (post 3...at idle in driveway). One of the modules in block 12 has a bad cell. Easy Squeezy...replace the bad module in Block 12. There's some other issues with your modules that may need to be resolved later, but that should at least get you running again and give you time to make a long term plan.
Call me strange, but I would first want to know which codes are setting, and which of the three icons in the touchscreen are lit up.
It wouldn't surprise me if Dr. Prius and Torque Pro haven't been fully checked out on 2001 Prius. If you really want the best diagnostic data, you'll have to use Techstream. But module 12 has a problem. A module that is 1.2 volts or more less than the others has a defective cell in it.
Or, IDK, if he's not actually connected a meter to the cell to confirm, it may have a defective harness or ECU?
No, Strange. Block 12 has a bad module. All that's needed to confirm that is the graphs he provided. Under load it goes lower than the others. Under charge it is going higher than the others. On the low side, it's right at 1.3 volts down, which is conveniently the voltage difference caused when 1 of the 6 internal cells fails inside a module. All are classic signs. There could easily be other issues to go along with it, tho. I'm sure there are other weak modules that will pop up.
