I went 5~6 years on an OEM (Michelin Pilot) with a plug repair, finally swapped that set out, more due to age than tread wear. And maybe 4~5 years now on one of the plug-repaired snow tires, will continue to use them at least one more winter. Never leaked or any problems.

I use a simple floor-standing bicycle pump for airing up tires. It's a bit of a workout but very dependable.

Good tip- I will stick a small foot pump in my trunk as insurance.

The best quote I read about the plugs is "I would put them on my car, but not on yours." That sums it up! I am comfortable with it for now. Worst case, it slowly leaks.

I saw somewhere, maybe here or a YouTube video where a guy took apart the pump and fit a short length of tubing bypassing the goo canister.

Someone is selling their Toyota Corolla 2019 Spare tire for $155 i.e., includes shipping. Here is the Toyota Corolla 2019 Spare tire Description : SPARE,125-70-17

From reading on this forum it seems that this spare will fit. Can someone please confirm it.

    Much appreciate your response.

My guess? after experiencing mag removal, ( 5k after dealer rotation ) jacked on a 3 ton low profile with a jack stand. I wouldn't want to have to do that on the OE jack, anywhere.

What I do is if I am going on a long trip I grab a spare snow tire/wheel and my bag with lift, tools etc and put it the back. Around my area I do not bother. Its not perfect as it takes up space but it works. Luckily I have not needed to use it.

I went through this in 2018 when I first bought my Prime. I have snows also, but I like to drive all the time with a spare, and wanted a doughnut spare if it didn't break the bank.

Thanks to much advice here, when seeking a spare for my 2018 Prime, I bought a wheel from Mc George for a 2016 Prius. The reason I am posting this is as at that time a search for a spare rim for a Prime produced 0 results, so based on advice here, I purchased doughnut rim for a 2016 Prius.

I always meant to check the measurements but never did. I checked McGeorge's web site today and found that they now do suggest a doughnut spare rim rim for my 2018 Prim and it is the same as the 2016 that I bought:

2016-2020 Toyota Wheel, Spare 42611-47631 | McGeorge Toyota Parts

    and now:

2016-2020 Toyota Wheel, Spare 42611-47631 | McGeorge Toyota Parts

I also (back then) found a Falken doughnut spare from Tire Rack for less than $100.00, as I recall the other option was a Bridgestone for ~ $300 !

It would have been nice if Toyota had provided specs for those that wished to purchase a temporary spare for a Prime. I haven't had a flat in years, but I had remember having a 2 year lease on a Mercury and having 3-4 flats, also my 2008 RAV had 1 or 2 flats (nothing to do with the cars of course) I'm not going anywhere without a spare.

This reason I believe in a full spare is this. If you get a flat far from home and need to drive back a couple hours a small donut tire may not make it. Most say 50 miles is the recommended distance which is similar to a run flat tire. If I drive to Sugarloaf ME skiing it is 300 miles one way and no donut tire will make it. It is what they do in Alaska though they sometimes put two full tires in their trucks depending where they go. It all depends on how far and where you travel I guess.

In your circumstance, the full size tire is the way to go. Most of my driving is around suburban Boston, and the temp spare will work for me.
Sugarloaf is one of the nicest ski areas I have visited, I also attended a Jazz camp there several years ago in the summer.
