    Hi guys!
I've been swamped with work and research. Today after I drove home the drive stat caught my eye as I was exiting the Prius C. I'm use to seeing the higher 27 and 30 as i believe you guys are too but this caught my eye while just driving normally without nursing the throttle, it was a long day and I just wanted to get home for dinner.... this was a very satisfying to end the day and welcome the weekend. 20191025_195257.jpg
There was heavy traffic, highway driving and slow street cruising.

I just want to say sorry if I am in the wrong. But what is the difference between the red and quantum? And is there a back story about quantum? Thanks.

Are you talking about the solenoid for the Toyota Quantum 2.7L?

Do you think the quantum solenoid could be used in place of the red bullet?

Do you have pictures of the quantum solenoid so that we may compare the two?

Think I finally found what you're trying to ask about.

    Quantum Solenoid– Qem LLC

If there was a back story related to quantum, it would most likely be at the above link.

This could be the main difference between the two (after price and selection) : The Quantum Difference– Qem LLC

Wonder if another Toyota/Lexus model solenoid (Toyota 2.7L Quantum, Lexus IS350, etc.) might fit and accomplish the same thing.

Or are they both custom-badged versions of the same "generic" product? Are the Quantums more expensive because they include the dealer's markup? -- are they available except through a dealer?

I agree with you guys they both look the same. That’s why I was asking if maybe quantum copied red ? Or vise verse ?

Is there a video on how to install the red bullet? I've received mine, but I'm not sure how to install (but still want to give it a go!)

Hi Backflip! It's really simple, the toughest part for me on a Prius C was getting to the existing VVTI solonoid already in the car because it's right behind our oil dip stick...so it's tough pulling it out. But besides that it's easy. As far as directions go, visit http://www.redbullet.net/products and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find installation instructions. I think there's a video out there too but i can't find it atm in this long thread. Hope that helps!

Whole bunch of folks in here have seen MPG improvements. Not sure what you're saying.

On my third tank I have seem 3 mpg per gallon more. Exceleration is a more quick response without losing mpg. Overall, I am happy. Also, it forces engine to warm up faster from cold starts by running a little longer.

It also depends on what car you have. I have a Prius 2015 hatchback and my solenoid was on top of the valve cover. Less than 2 minutes to install.

The way Florida is going with eliminating the swamps and producing usable land, I suspect that in 20 years that land will be worth something. :D
But doesn't change the fact that the users on this forum that have used it have all had positive results.

    Need more data.

It's good that folks are doing the experimenting for us all. To you, cheers and good luck.

Greenteapri has left the chat. I'll be back in year.
