I’ll be in Tokyo for the motor show this year. Taking requests for things you’d want me to check out and report back. Insert usual disclaimer of “I’ll check as many things as possible in my short time but may not get to everything if there’s a large volume of requests” On my list Lexus EV Mitsubishi PHEV Crossover Nissan EV Crossover Toyota Yaris (it’ll be displayed at the shopping mall nearby not at the auto show) 2021 Toyota Mirai Mazda EV Peugeot e-208
The vehicle I am most interested in is the Mazda EV (which you have listed). It doesn’t have the biggest range but design was it is unique and cool like the Prius Gen 2 was 15 years ago. If is possible I would like to see pictures and any dimensions of the cargo area(s) of the car. And if you think he car is similar in size to the Gen 2 Prius. I would really like an EV for my next car and to not want to spend $40-50k on one. For reference the Mazda EV might end up looking like the attached image. Thank you. Scott
I'm interested in vehicles that won't be introduced at the Tokyo show but might be talked about. Specifically, any leaks on the Rav4 Plug -in Hybrid (which will be fully introduced at the LA auto show after Thanksgiving) and the next gen Lexus NX hybrid (no info anywhere on that except that it will be built in Canada starting in 2022.).
roger that. If it’s a concept, it may be only on the stage but I’ll see if I can get any idea of cargo size. Hopefully they’ll have English speaking reps. Alrighty. As above, hopefully they’ll have English speaking reps.
Rumour has it, it’ll be 70km or 43 miles. No idea under what test cycle. (link is in French). If it’s JC-08, then it’s just a bit more than the Prime’s 64km range. That’ll translate to about 28 miles here. Voici le Toyota RAV4 PHEV 2021, avec ses 70 km d’autonomie!
No longer a concept car, it maybe already in production, but if you find out anything more about Tj Cruiser, let us know, especially if they are making plug-in version.
Lol. No. I still get monthly pay stubs of $0 Job perks include working with you people Thank you! Hmm, ok I’ll see if there’s anything on the floor. I didn’t realize it was going into production.
Here is another car I want you to report on. It's a KEI class PHEV. It will be too small for the US and not likely to sell well even if introduced. But it is very intriguing. I'm curious what this e-Broom is supposed to be? A Halloween prank? It flies through the air? Experience first-hand mobility of the future! Modeled after a broom used by a witch to fly through the air, this mobility platform integrates people and machines, allowing users to reaffirm the enjoyment of mobility.Toyota to Welcome Visitors at 'Mobility Theme Park' | Toyota | Global Newsroom | Toyota Motor Corporation Official Global Website Edit: 7:55 in the video:
That’s gotta be the first kei class PHEV? All the hybrids I’ve seen are subcompact or larger (lots of Honda and Toyota hybrids plus Nissan e-power serial hybrids). Most newer cars have auto start-stop (even the Porsche Boxster!) There’s an outdoor mobility pavilion. Maybe it’ll be showcased there. Note the broom in your photo had two wheels at the base near the bristles.
I looked it up. The size of Suzuki Waku Spo is slightly larger than the Japanese Kei standard at 3.70m long, 1.65m wide. The current Kei standard has max 660cc, 3.4m long, 1.48m wide, 2.0m tall. It may be similar in size as Honda-E. Still very small and compact.
