latest # of HOV stickers issued?

That is wrong in California, finance or not. Cash or not. It doesnt matter here. The dealerships actually prefer for you to finance. The only thing that is done to the vehicle on DMV is place a lein holder on such. Not sure where you get your info from. I financed and received my plates in less than 6 days!! So it can be done as myself and others have stated. JW

Can be done but not by the next day. Fastest way to plates is with cash. Otherwise, financing and payment has to clear which is why you waited 6 days and I had mine in less than 24 hours. For me, that would have been stickers or no stickers. For someone to have bought on 07/15 and still be waiting for plates is insane.

 

Just a quick note: I sent my application in via regular mail on 8/30/2006 and the check just cleared today. Hopefully that means I get the stickers.

Just some fresh hope for some of you still waiting...

 

I sent my app in on the 30th also, but with a money order hoping a wait wouldn't be needed for the check to clear. Of course now, I have NO idea, not being able to see if a check has cleared, if I'll get my stickers. Sometimes, I'm just smart this way...

 

I sent mines on 8/28 and the check was cashed today! 9/13 Now lets see if I actually get the sticker.

Man, you are lucky. I finally got my license plate number on 8/31/2006 (bought car on 7/15/2006), so I mailed my application on that day by regular mail (but I'm in So. Cal), so far the check has not cleared. I might have missed the 75k by one day.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if stickers are numbered higher than 75,000 to account for people who request replacement stickers.

A friend got his stickers today. 75,4XX. My car dealer told me they heard they were issuing 3000 more. Fingers crossed, as mine would arrive next week if there are any left!

 

My dealer said that they would be available until the end of the month .... I'm beginning to wonder about him ...

 

Perhaps, but if they are, then at what number would the tickets end (ie. how many non-counting stickers have been issued / how many uniques, you know what I mean)?

Does anybody here have reissued stickers? Do you/can you check if they have the same number?

Update- I have been checking my online banking account for a cleared check, but nothing

9/8- Sacramento last week and they said they received my application and it was in the queue to be processed.

9/13- called sacramento again and this time the lady said they havent received my application and did not see anything in the ledger to show I made a payment. She told me to overnight a new application since there maybe something wrong with the one I sent. I quickly made the cutoff time and overnighted application #3.

9/14- Called sacramento again and this new lady said they mailed my stickers out on 9/9! Not sure if that was from application #1 or #2. I was wondering what the lady was talking about yesterday now???? I am hoping the stickers should arrive in the next day or two........

I remain positive. I mailed mine in today and I think that I will get my sticker.

My timeline:

9/30 8pm Get call from Sunnyvale Toyota that they have a black #6 available
9/1 Signed purchase agreement
9/7 Check cashed by dealer
9/11 Fax proof of check clearing to dealer
9/12 Dealer walks my registration through DMV and gets me plates
9/12 10pm Pick up plates from dealer
9/13 6am-7am Drive to SF to get FasTrak
9/13 7am-9am Mail HOV application to DMV via Express Mail
9/14 6am DMV receives and signs for Express Mail

Crossing my fingers...

 

I mailed my application for stickers on August 11, 2006. I got my stickers in the mail on Sept. 2, 2006, and my check still hasn't cleared... my stickers are #72,823, and i've been told by the DMV that they are issuing more than 75 K. good luck to those of you who haven't gotten them yet.

 

Just checked my online bank this morning and my check has cleared (dated 9/14/2006) for the carpool lane stickers, so we'll see how long it takes for them to get to my house in Los Angeles. That's a relief. I thought I missed the cutoff by a day or two based on people receiving stickers in the 74,500 range. I got some hope yesterday when reading that people were receiving sticker numbers higher than 75,000. I never wanted a check to be cashed so bad as I did that one. Everything worked out in the end, but my dealer made me made for taking such a long time to get my license plate number (bought car on 7/15/2006 and didn't get license plate number until 8/31/2006). Horay for me! Good luck to everyone else waiting.
