For 2020, the base/LE models get Entune 3.0 with the 7” headunit. The Upgrade/Tech/XLE/Limited models with the 11.6” screen don’t. So no Prime Apps.

what possible reason could there be for them to remove useful functionality like that?

Poor timing between audio units and model years? It’s either the Prime doesn’t get CarPlay until the redesign or they shoehorn a temporary fix.

Again, I have mentioned that Entune 3.0 has been designed for their 7” and 8” units so the Prime’s unique 11.6” screen puts it at a disadvantage and we’re seeing that disadvantage now.

It stays in PWR mode even after turning off the car (In the Gen 3 Prius, it defaults to normal)

Even driving 10 mph past speed limit (flow of traffic) people still cut you off.

I'd bet that's not only Prius as a factor - it is because some people are just jerks.

Yeah, it doesn't matter what you're driving. At 5 over, so many people pass me so fast that I keep checking my mirror to see if there's a Tyrannosaurus Rex coming up from behind.

When I think it is just me, and my Prii's I've had, I notice the jerks are still passing crazily every other car/SUV/truck up the road for miles ahead. It is usually them, not us.

The Energy Monitor screen doesn’t show battery SOC (it shows it on our 2016 Prius)

The compass screen display is tied to your compass display in the nav. If you have North Up set in the nav, it’ll be North Up on the compass screen on the MID for example.

I don't know, but I'm guessing it's even worse than the cars and trucks they are chasing.

I didn't look though 12 pages of this thread so it may have been said before. If you call some one or someone calls you, you can use the "green" phone button on the steering wheel to answer. If you press it again while in a call, it will mute the mic (good for drive thoughs.) Press it again and it un-mutes.

The purpose of having headlights on when using wipers is not for you. It's for other drivers -- to make it easier for them to see you.

Kind of like headlights in a well-lighted urban area where there's plenty of street lighting to see to drive. Mostly important to help others see you. And also why you sometimes see drivers with their headlights turned off while driving downtown. Because they can see fine, they don't think to turn their lights on.

Also, I was under the impression that the USDOT required that turning on the wipers also turns on the headlamps. However, I'm not sure if this requirement has been implemented. It's certainly been under discussion for may years. Here is a clipping form the New York Times way back in 1991:

Does anyone know if this has become a Federal safety requirement? It seems that many auto-makers have implemented this feature.

That article, reminds me of a peculiar anomaly in Canada (where headlights turn on automatically, all the time). Wasn't too long ago I read the greatest fatality Source are moose. I guess they don't understand headlights.

Those are DRLs, not legal headlights. Required in Canada since late 1989.
I remain quite unaware of any such federal regulation.

Charging door charging light lights up as you approach the car with your keyfob. For this to work, the car must be locked.

2020+ models have the clock settings menu in the MID between the "Info" menu and the "compass" menus (i.e. 2nd menu option). 2017-2019 models have the clock settings buried within the "Settings" menu

Humm, I have changed the time in both 2017 and 2020 but didn't notice the difference.
