I bought a kit for an Apple CarPlay to install in my wife's 2012 Prius V. I pulled out the factory-installed radio and can't find a wire that looks like it would lead to a microphone, although the unit definitely works with Bluetooth. Anyone done this before, or know what I'm looking for?

The microphone and its amplifier are in the map light assembly

I ran into this when I did our c.

In the end, I removed the Toyota amplified microphone from the ceiling, gutted the stock mic and amplifier board out of it and then re-used the shell to host the microphone that came with the aftermarket stereo. I just wedged it in there with a bit of foam and soldered it up to the pins for MCO+ and MCO-.

Then behind the head unit, I separated those two wires from the harness and adapted them to the miniplug connector on the back of our aftermarket deck.

It all worked great. Good luck!

Semi related. Did you find a nice looking face plat that makes it look factory installed? What Radio did you do with?
