Got a good one for you car came in with P3030 cleaned all the bus bars replaced 4 cells reinstalled reconditioned HV battery pulled this code on techstream the other day. Started to pull the codes to erase got a P0A80 then dash goes black no start condition the 12volt battery has 7volts and I closed the hatch before I started ...... it's been a great afternoon. Tomorrow I'll be crawling to the back of the car to jump the battery to open the hatch just so I can replace the 12volt Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.

The P3030 code points to bad voltage sensing wires or a corroded voltage sensing wire plug at the battery ECU. Did you look at live battery block voltages with Techstream or another app before taking the battery apart? Did you remove and inspect the plug at the battery ECU? What are you using to read codes? You're doing enough Prius work that you really should be using Techstream.
I cleaned the bus bars inspected the wiring checked all connections and replaced 4 cells it was only a faulty auxiliary battery the car is repaired and out the shop now. The owner has already picked it up. I am already running techstream. All it was was the auxiliary battery and the lack of me plugging the fan back in after cleaning...... lesson pay attention and dont work while exhausted Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Note for the future: you can pop open the back hatch manually by crawling back there and flipping a small black latch next to the main one. Prius can be serviced sans power in many situations. Ive rebuilt my hybrid battery without having the 12VDC battery connected at all.
Are you sure that is accessible in a Gen 2 when the hatch is shut? I seem to remember that little lever being under all the plastic trim, which seemed kind of dumb at the time. How do you get the trim out of the way if the hatch is closed? Or do you have to pull up the floor plate and the plastic tray to get to it?
You lift the floor plate and just pop the small cover out of the plastic tray so you can reach through to the release lever.
Yes that little guy makes popping the hatch easier unless you've put together the whole trunk assembly. It's much easier to jump the block and pop the deck lid from the outside Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
