<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eclectcmoi @ Sep 12 2006, 01:19 PM) </div> We got ours by accident. Went in to order White in package 7 before the HOV stickers and the tax credit ran out. Seaside Pearl was on the lot, and had been "...just turned down by the customer who ordered it." So, an offer we couldn't refuse. Now we prefer it - shows dust only slightly more than the white. Last week we passed a parked Seaside Pearl, less than a half-block (or half-of-a block, as the lady says on Nav) before we stopped at a signal. 2 more Seaside Pearls went across in front of us, in the same lane. I thought we just noticed our color more readily than others, but that doesn't explain 4 within a half-block. Toyota must have heard the word right after our favorite color hit the U.S. market. (Just U.S?) B)
Naw, black is by far the best color Prius!! To be honest, Seaside Pearl was a close 2nd to the black...actually I told my dealer originally that I would take a Pkg 8 in either color. Then one day I saw a black Prius with tinted windows and it looked SHARP!! The Seasides still looked cute but nothing could beat the look of that black Prius I saw, so I decided then that black and only black would work for me. And it still does!! And the Magnetic Gray sure is pretty too...I like "cool" colors in general: black, blue, gray, silver.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eclectcmoi @ Sep 12 2006, 03:30 PM) </div> Oh, yeah? Black cars don't even need to use gas....and they come with automatically engaging invisibility cloaks. h34r: <_<
Yowza! They're onto us!! What Does Your Car Color Say About Your Personality and Car Insurance Premiums? That article caught my eye while logging into AhOLe to check my email...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rancid13 @ Sep 12 2006, 03:44 PM) </div> OK, I know when I'm beat.
I really like the green color, and I thought it would be clever to have a green colored green car. But I see very few of them around town. I think Toyota produces more in white, silver, and blue. Those are the colors I see the most. I bought the blue (seaside perl...) My SO bought a red one, and I think that's a beautiful color. Not sure which one goes fastest or gets better mileage, too soon to tell. How's that for diplomatic? I pulled up next to another blue one at a stop light the other day. We signaled the "thumbs up" to each other. It was pretty cute.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rancid13 @ Sep 12 2006, 04:05 PM) </div> Cool article!
Yep dachshund you sure did! Now you're one of the "more introspective, reflective and cautious drivers" who drive blue.
Since I've owned a number of blue cars over the years, I was leaning toward something different. My first choice was Barcelona Red, followed by Seaside Pearl. The dealer had the Seaside in stock, so I went for it. I have no regrets about my decision. BTW, dust and dirt are not very visible on Seaside Pearl, so a bonus is that I don't have to wash the car very often.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JayGoldstein @ Sep 13 2006, 05:10 PM) </div> To me, black is sexier than all other Prius colors. Wait, isn't black the absence of all colors? I initially ordered a silver pine mica, then changed the color to magnetic gray, then my dealer said there is a silver Prius arriving 2 months before the one I ordered, I said yes, and then... finally... someone couldn't afford their black Prius, so I got it!
I love my seaside blue. I had wanted to hold out for magnetic gray, but I had no regrets once I saw it in person.
i saw one in seaside in my parking lot at work and i really liked it. but i couldn't wait so i picked black. i'm *very* happy i got black. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(PriusRos @ Sep 13 2006, 09:19 PM) </div> 'because they drive cars that are harder for other drivers to see. It doesn't necessarily make them more dangerous - they're just more likely to be in an accident. For many years, I've heard that silver cars are the least 'visible' color for a car, and from personal experience, I'd have to agree. A red, orange or yellow car is FAR more visible.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(PaPrius @ Sep 11 2006, 05:45 PM) </div> Agreed, of of course, that color comes down to personal taste. That being said, I ended up with Seaside Pearl because that was what the dealer was able to get for me on short notice. And I must say I love it; it looks very sharp on the Prius (second only, maybe, to Black, which I'd ruled out due to the scorching Texas summer heat). Hope this helps, Steve
