I would think so and theres no particular rush except the $1500 Toyota money goes away. But definitely will keep looking, thanks.

Can someone confirm/clarify the $4500 tax credit for me? The way I read it, the full 4500 is if you qualify for business related expenses... I just use it for personal/commuting purposes so my max credit is $2500. Have I got it right?

Not sure where you read that information, but personal use still qualifies $4502 tax credit, provided you have that much tax liability. Business-related expenses have nothing to do with this credit.

(Naive buyer question) In negotiations can I expect the dealer to offer more off then the Toyota $1500 and the "dealer adverstised discount" which for the Limited the best appears to be $1000 off?

Asking because my brother claims "walking away" threat works.

It is always possible to negotiate for lower price. You never know unless you ask. "walking away" tactics generally works in favor of buyer, but you can also miss a deal especially if the car you want is in high demand and low supply. Better method is to get written quotes from several dealers including far away dealers on-line or by e-mail. If you are satisfied with the numbers on the best deal on paper, then take that with you to a dealer of your choice. Often they will at least match the price. If you are lucky or good in negotiation, they may even give you lower price than the lowest on-line bid. Just make sure they are giving you the exactly the same car, package, services, etc, as the competitors bids.

Toyota's website directed me to IRS tax form 8936 (attached as file, can't link). At the end of Part I of the form it tells me to skip Part II because I did not use the vehicle for business or investment purposes. Then in Part III, line 17, the maximum credit is $2500 because I skipped Part II.

Am I just confused about the instructions to fill out the form?

It states that if your vehicle has 4 wheels, skip line 16 and 17, then go to 18.

See above comment from @utsug. That might answer your question. In any case, I can assure you that you are entitled to full $4502 credit as long as you have that much tax liability this year. I use Turbo Tax. It will automatically prepare the form.

Bought 2020 Prius Prime Limited (Red color) from Gresham Toyota, Oregon - MSRP was 35,200$ and paid 29,900$ + WA sales tax, license and doc fees. Feels like an awesome deal as no other dealer in the area was willing to beat it. Any thoughts?

    Neel,
This is a very good price. As I posted earlier the previous week, I got the LE from gresham Toyota for 24500$. They have the best price and very good to deal with.

The good news is that the $1500 Toyota rebate on the Prius Prime is not going away -- at least through November 4, 2019.
