I am in the desperate need of disabling Canadian DRLs in a v.
Has anyone found a way of bypassing the infamous DRL/DIM relay successfully?

Something I ran into somewhere (maybe on another forum) claimed that the Body ECU on non-DRL models might not assert the DRL signal that would be expected at connector 2C position 35. That was kind of a buzzkill possibility, so I went and checked in my US-spec 2010 liftback, and sure enough, that just acts as an open circuit regardless of the car's power/READY status and parking brake position.

So, that's kind of disappointing. On the other hand, I think all that signal is supposed to do is be false to begin with, then latch true when the car is READY and the parking brake is released, and even without the Body ECU doing that for you, it shouldn't be too hard to produce such a signal some other way.

It's been a long long time since I studied this, but I believe the DRL start when shifted into D.

I use a module that senses (>13.8V) above resting battery voltage to trigger a relay to drive the fogs. Energizes fogs at READY.

For sure in our '04 Sienna. Quite possibly there's a toggle in Techstream to turn them on as well. Seems like the latest is a watered down version, at least after tinkering with the TPMS interface.

I have a Sylvania Fog/DRL unit and I actually tried to install it in our v, but even with the Toyota specific bracket it wouldn't fit. So this mod is still on the menu, if I ever find the green relay. (Sorry @ChapmanF I haven't found it)...

I clicked painstakingly through all of the customization settings I can see in Techstream and did not see any for that.
