Welcome! The short answer is, "Nope." But if you got a Gen 4, that display is amazingly configurable. One of the very first things I did was to ENABLE that display. Just out of curiosity, how would that be helpful?
Just wanted to comment, so I can see the answer from OP. I too am curious to know why OP wants to disable the display.
I answered elsewhere but personally I just find it distracting and annoying. Thanks for the help anyway guys.
