I know the P0446 is a common one, but if it comes with a P0109 ("Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) Barometric Pressure Sensor Electrical Circuit Intermittent Malfunction"), does that signify anything? Thanks...
No, I don't have access to tech stream...I was hoping someone here with way more knowledge than me (which would be everyone) might have some theories...
With what are you reading the codes. P0109 I don't believe is a val Gen 2 code. Which casts doubts on P0446 is also the right code.
I'm using the Car Scanner app on my phone (Car Scanner ELM OBD2 - Apps on Google Play) and connecting via the Kitbest OBD dongle (). I've included a screencap of the app...looks legit? And jeez, you're right, I goofed on the number -- the other code is P0104, sorry about that. Looks like it's the Mass Airflow Sensor.
That doesn't appear to be a valid code either, for a 2006 Gen 2 Prius anyway. The P010x codes that are valid are to do with the MAF, though. Looks can be deceiving, and not really a good measure of whether a code reader is giving the correct information. Perhaps you could try one of the auto parts chain stores that do free scanning, provided they have a Prius capable scanner. [EDIT:] This code could possibly be a new code introduced for the 2007 Prius, Idk. Anyway I found this on another site and indicates the code is valid for Toyota Prius (but doesn't specify which years). Unfortuantely as the code is not in my copy of the Repair Manual, I can't offer any other insight. P0104 Toyota Mass Air Flow Sensor Throttle Angle and Speed
