Do you guys have a prepared engine bay cleaner for the 2015 Prius? I know it's the last year with the exposed orange wires but I just bought it used and there has been some signs of mice pee and droppings. It's a little but still there. I wanted to do a hood cleaning of the entire engine bay and spray it down with water. Any tips? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I dampen a warm (not hot) engine, then spray on Simple Green, scrub around with brushes, sponges, and the like, then gently rinse off with water. No high pressure blasts aimed at electrical components. After the rinse is complete, you can dry with a leaf blower or some compressed air.
I would use duster boa, paint brushes, what have you, with a decent wet-dry vacuum, first on vacuum, then blowing (or use a leaf blower, compressed air, what have you, for the blow). I would not spray water in there, period. Use damp cloths, nothing more. If you take off a few components you can clean more effectively. For sure take the ornamental plastic cover off the engine. Also, taking out the air snorkel and air filter box, cleaning them and what's behind will make a big difference.
