Lots of people use them for this. Suggest a visit to the Rav4 forums. Keep in mind that the 2019 is a completely new car inside and out. Rear deck is not perfectly flat or level with the seats down but its a big improvement over previous model.
I am considering the RAV4 Hybrid for camping. Particularly appealing to me is the idea of running the HVAC off the hybrid system and also being able to use the built-in inverter. I will check out that link to the RAV4 forums.
You'll find quite a bit of discussion elsewhere on PriusChat about camping in a PRIUS using the HVAC successfully. @JimmyPri had quite a few - and a YouTube Channel - Wonderful Wandering Topics - YouTube I was wondering with RAV4 as it's a little bigger in some dimensions - and I'm probably going to change cars in the next 12 months. Yes, there is some discussion on some RAV4 forums, but some wasn't using a hybrid, and nearly nothing with regard to the new model.
Having a 2015 Prius and a 2017 RAV4 HV...I consider either good for hauling my stuff to a campsite...but neither "good" for sleeping in.
