    Never wax your car?

That’s not good. If you can’t physically do it yourself take it and have it detailed and professionally waxed it will extend your paint life years. The sun is hotter than ever now and will take its toll quick on Unprotected paint.
Be aware that color is heavily pigmented and will fade really fast unless protected.

If your able to wax the car yourself go to Walmart and buy a clay bar kit and some good quality wax and go at it.

Interior design is just as important, best thing to do there is buy a weathertech window sun shield that’s form fitted and insulated. Buy it in the Priushop, mine is going on 10 years old they last very long.
The Prius has a really big windshield cross section.

It is very hard on the hybrid battery to leave your car parked outside and letting the cabin reach defcon5 level heat. That really shortens the life of the battery not to mention all the electronic modules in the cabin. Lots of modules in the cabin.

There is NO unprotected paint anymore, at least not OEM. Everything comes clear coated.
Wax/polish is nice but hasn't really been needed since about 1950.

I'm sure that the scientific community will be interested in knowing that the sun is getting hotter.
That is something that they seemed to have overlooked.

True that heat is hard on batteries.......IF they are in a location that is exposed to it.

You live in Florida, right ? How many "electronic modules" have you had to replace because of heat damage ?
    Hint: I'm betting on NONE.

The battery temperature is surprisingly not very well correlated with the cabin temperature. The battery has a lot of mass, and maybe some insulation. Even if my car is baking in the sun for several hours, the battery might only be a little hotter than when I parked. If it's parked in the sun all day the heat does start to get to the battery.

And for example I parked outside all of last night without charging. The temperature was around 70, but the battery was still 80 degrees when I got in.

Leaving the windows open helps if it's not going to rain, but it does't make as much of a difference as I would have thought.
