at least in Canada. Just like the Prime, there's a mishmash of headunits depending on whether you have the base or the 11.6" screen. The Future Is Advanced – And Fun – In The 2020 Toyota Prius | Toyota Canada
Anyone able to help me understand the multimedia system? The only technology my old car had was Bluetooth and I'm feeling lost. I'm personally looking at the XLE, trying to decide between saving money on a 2019 or getting the 2020. The multimedia system seems to be the only difference. I have an Android phone and of course they don't have Android Auto. I mainly want to know if I'll be able to run navigation on the screen without paying an additional subscription to something. Can I do anything app-based without paying for WiFi/data for the car? Or is that a given these days? 2019: Entune™ Audio — includes 6.1-in. touch-screen display, AM/FM, CD player, six speakers, auxiliary port, USB 2.0 media port with iPod ® connectivity and control and two rear USB 2.1A ports, advanced voice recognition, hands-free phone capability, phone book access and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology, Siri® Eyes Free, and integrated backup camera display. 2020: Audio — includes six speakers, 7-in. touch-screen display, AM/FM, Scout® GPS Link compatible with up to 3-year trial, Siri® Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay® & Amazon Alexa compatible, USB 2.0 media port and two rear USB 2.1A ports, hands-free phone capability, advanced voice recognition, and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology, Connected Services—Safety Connect® with 3-year trial, Wi-Fi ConnectPowered by Verizon with up to 2 GB within 6-month trial.
If you’re looking for built-in nav, it’s not available on 2019 or 2020 XLE. ScoutGPS is app-based and requires data from your phone (or you can use it for free for 2 months on the car’s built-in wifi by Verizon. The Limited has embedded navigation so you’ll have to go up to that if you want navigation built into the car. If you do have data on your phone, ScoutGPS is free for 3 years.
Thank you for the helpful reply! I'll take a look at the Limited. This is literally the only thing that's got me considering something other than a Prius. I'll probably still end up in one, but wish I didn't feel like I were settling for something sub-optimal. Oh well.
Unless you add the moonroof which DELETES the 17" wheels and adds the 15" back. Totally screwed up but they had to do that if they wanted to keep the EPA rating. In an ideal world, I'd get Limited + AWD-e + Moonroof + 17" wheels.
Ohh? Ok that makes sense (sorta). They did the same dance for the Gen 3. You can always add the 17” wheels back. we have the AWD-e fully loaded but no moonroof (only available on FWD Technology packages). Sigh. No 17” option here.
Yeah. Or buy them used here and the sell them again when the lease is up haha. (I assume that’s what you mean?)
