Prius Prime Advanced 2017. Seat getting VERY uncomfortable. Even on a 50 km/30 mile trip. Does anyone else have this problem?

    SM-N920V ?

Hmmm... Not particularly, based upon periodic, 200-mile trips.

For comparison, I’m 58 years old, and 2017 P.Prime Advanced.

I haven’t heard complaints from my 55-year-old wife either, best I can recall.

No for me. 6’ 3”, 185 lbs. 750 miles in a day has not resulted in discomfort. My 5’ 4” wife also finds the passenger seat comfortable on the same trip.

Edit - did you recently buy the car or have you had the 2017 model since new?

I have.a 2019 Advance and it feels fine on short and long trips. I guess it may be what you are comparing it too. I had a 2013 plug-in and a 2011 PRIUS before that, and yes those had seat issue comfort and for tall folk adjustments.

Other than usual complaint for the SofTex material, I don't have much problem. It is much improvement upon my Gen3 Two trim which had no lumbar support. I have done weekly 500+ miles drives this summer on PRIME but have not felt discomfort.

I'm also wondering if this is a "new to you" car or a "new to you" situation. Mine has the most comfortable driver's seat I've ever owned in over 45 years of driving. My PiP would set my tailbone on fire after only about 250 miles. With this power seat, 750 mile days are completely comfortable. Except that the driver's door armrest is out of reach for my elbow.

The bottom, back, or both? Is this despite adjusting the lumbar support?

I actually find my 2017 Prime more comfortable than my old car. I used a 2007 Avalon before.

W8, if you can express what is wrong with the seat, a specialty upholstery shop near you can re-shape the foam. They'll remove the seat from the car, remove the cover, add or carve away foam, then put the cover back on. They need you to tell them what is uncomfortable about the seat. Check with local shops that make custom motorcycle seats...full seats, not just custom covers.

Four 1540 mile trips (each in 3 days) spaced by months, no problem. Never had a car like that.
Due to previous cars, I carry gel cushions for "painful butt syndrome", never needed it with the prime.

    Nope.

Can we assume you've adjusted your seat properly ?

Any chance you accidently changed the lumbar setting (easy enough to do since it's on the left side of the seat and is powered). That could easily make your seat suddenly uncomfortable.

Seems odd that a relatively new poster (little over 2 years, 18 posts) pops up, makes a complaint with little detail, then vanishes. Is he trolling?

Giving the benefit of the doubt, I assume his complaint is rooted in an improperly adjusted seat, likely the lumbar as mentioned above.

I don’t have a Prime but a PiP, and I find the seats are very comfortable. I have done a 2100km trip to Florida over 2 days in this car with no discomfort at all, and I hear the Prime is even better. :). The Gen 2 on the other hand..... lol.

over the years, there have been a subset of people who find prius drivers seat excruciating. only solution has been to trade cars

I drive about 90 km a day in traffic and find the seat very comfortable. I am 5'9" , 160 lbs. I drove a 2019 Ford Taurus today, which is supposed to be very comfortable and could not find a good driving position. I guess it depends on the individual.

Old thread, but I came looking for seat comfort related threads and this was one of them.
My issue is odd. The left side bolster seems to dig into my leg just below the hip bone. I keep shifting to the right only to find it digging in again later. Right side bolster never bothers me. I may just settle into it over time, but if not I'll have to do something about it.
