I have a 2007 with 3 FOBs. One has sat in a drawer unused for almost a year. When I went to use it, it wouldn't unlock the doors. It also didn't work to start the car (even when inserted in the slot). The other 2 FOBs work just fine. This one is essentially new, it's just been stored away. Battery in it is good.

Is there something that can cause the car to "forget" one of the FOBs?

I would change the battery in it if you haven’t already. And check the voltage on your 12v battery. I have also 3 fobs for my 09 and they all still work. Two of them are sitting in my drawer for 4 years now

Main battery is fine -- both of the other FOBs work perfectly. This one worked fine when put away.

New battery. I'll replace it again, but wouldn't it still work for starting the car if it is put in the slot? It's supposed to work there even when its battery is dead.

3V -- full CR2032 voltage. No change with new battery

Yes it worked and the other two are working. They are the only FOBs I have, so I haven't gotten them mixed up

Do you carry one of the other 2 working fobs with you when you try to use it? Try walking up with just the non working fob and see what happens.

Nope. That's how I know it isn't working. Door doesn't unlock and car won't start (even with fob in the slot). I'm beginning to think it spontaneously died in the drawer.....
