I'm looking to upgrade my Sprint cell phone and was curious what experiences others have had with connecting Sprint Bluetooth to a 2006 Prius, package #8. Thanks in advance.

While not the answer you're probably wanting to hear, at the time we got our cars, Sprint didn't seem to offer a completely compatible phone (other than PDA's) and as such we ended up switching to a different provider. After two months of this, we have found that we liked Sprint's network and plan better, but we're thrilled to be able to use the bluetooth features. In June, the be-all-end-all was going to be a Sanyo phone due out in August, if I remember correctly. For obvious reasons I have not heard or looked for anything on it lately.
I have read good things about the KATANA phone by Sprint. Do a search for it in the Audio and Electronics section. One user reported no problems that are common to phones and the Prius. If I remember correctly, all the phonebook entries trasnfered quickly and with one operation, signal meter and battery level are displayed on the MFD, calls were clear, caller ID worked (I think that was what was said). Finally a cheaper phone that does "everything" and is not a PDA phone. It has been said that the phone feels cheap; I went to look at it last night at a local Sprint store. It comes in black, blue, and pink. The Sprint rep and the poster in the Audio and Electronics section as well as on the Green Hybrid website (toyota camry) indicated that the phone was of good quality (subjective?). Hope this helps. Chris P.S. When my contract expires in a month I am going to get this phone. Call sprint and get in touch with the retention dept. They may sell it to you cheaper than the $79.99 they charge at the store. Ask them about the 6-16% discount on top of other discounts you may be getting becuase you are a loyal customer.

I am enjoying excellent service and bluetooth connectivity. I was able to upload my entire phone book at one time, my signal and battery strength are accurately displayed along with "Home or Roam" indications. Incidentally, I moved my sunglasses to the storage area below the CD player and I put my phone in the sunglass storage area. I found that I can maintain better signal strength than when the phone is in my pocket.
I have a LG350 and they paired up and works just fine. I have not try to transfer the phone contacts.
