I drive a 2006 prius and recently have noticed the mpg plummet and the electric motors aren't kicking in hardly at all. however the battery indicator seems to be running at half or even 3/4. I have no "red triangle of death" or codes pushing. Right now I am getting 29.8 to 31 mpg in town. please help me.
How many miles on your Prius? While no red triangle, any codes or lights in the dash? Do you have a way to read them if there are? Sounds like your hv battery is getting long in the tooth, so it’ll likely need sorting soon. Good luck and keep us posted .
Yes I have a way to read them but it's throwing none. Look to the picture I attached. I thought if the battery was going bad the red triangle of death would appear???
Yeah, sounds like HV battery is worn out and the computer hasn’t realized it yet. Either way it’s time to plug it into Techstream and start looking for detailed diagnostic info.
