    Congrats on your new PRIME LIMITED.

    Yeah, Plus, Premium and Advanced were more intuitive for the grade levels. I have no idea what LE and XLE stand for.

    Count the letters in the trim, and the price varies accordingly. LE is the old Plus, XLE is the old Premium, Limited is the old Advanced.

    Those letters are expensive...

    There are only three trims for PRIME, but for other Toyota models, there is SE trim. I think it is one above LE, but the same number of letters.

    There is not a SE trim on any of the Prius models (Prime or not). The Prius has L (Eco), LE, XLE, Limited and LE AWD and XLE AWD trims.

    The Corolla has L, Hybrid LE (you have to live with the low trim with a hybrid, I guess), XLE, and SE (with or without manual transmission), and XSE. Since it's marketed as an econobox, no fancy Limited trim on this one.

    Toyota is all over the place with their trim designations.

    I like old Prius and Prime trim names. They are more intuitive. OK, maybe not for Pruis or Prime, but I still can't figure out why SE is better than LE. o_O

    Hmmm. Thanks for the link. It is still a bit unclear.

    L: Entry level model Where did "L" come from? From "level"? Shouldn't it be "E"?
    LE: Luxury Edition vs SE: Sport Edition Luxury sounds more expensive than Sport... to me anyway.

    I think by this, DX: Deluxe sounds higher than L trim, doesn't it?:p

    It’s pretty easy to understand.

    L is simply cost cutting since there’s already the letter L in the names (instead of using the previous CE or classic edition or the older DX or deluxe edition... there was briefing a VE on the Corolla.... Value Edition)

    Luxury line: L, LE, XLE, Limited, Platinum
    Sport line: S, SE, XSE

    Honda

    DX, LX, EX, EX-L (L for leather), Touring. SE for special edition. It’s usually a value packed model.

    IMHO, all those letters are just dumb. Label them like the floors of a building. Lowest is 1 (unless you're in England or a few other places where the second from the bottom floor is first. LOL!). Next highest floor or trim is 2, and so on. No mnemonics or memorization required.
