My 2013 Prius plugin with 70k miles makes a strange clicky wind up noise, like winding up and old clock. It only happens just as I'm starting to accelerate at low speeds and just as I come to a full stop. The sound originates from the back of my car where the battery is. What is it?
That's in interesting one. Hmmm. Have you tried jacking up the back end and spinning the wheels by hand?
Perhaps it's a "creak" sound from the suspension components compressing and expanding. Try standing on the rear bumper with the car parked and see if you hear it then.
